2 positive test and 1 negative test on same day

I'm not sure what to think .

Today I decided to take a test as the last couple of day I've been feeling very sick in the morning and tired . I brought Superdrug digital test £8.99 for 2 I did one at 6am and it came up positive. I phoned my friend up and she said to take the other to check . I had to leave for work but I took the other test with me I did it at 9am this morning and it came up positive again so she said get a clear blue test to see how far gone you are . Brought one and do it at 11am came up not pregnant.

Do you think is the time of day ? This is first time it's happened to me . After 3 years this is my first positive test ?

I'm going to try again in morning but wondering if anyone else has had this problem ?

The 11am one will be because your urine was too diluted for the test.

My money's on congrats you're pregnant.

Fourormore · 13/02/2016 15:49

Superdrug ones are really sensitive, clear blue are less sensitive and clear blue digital are even less sensitive! I'd say pregnant too.

chandelierswinging · 13/02/2016 15:50

I think congratulations are in order!

The superdrug own brand tests look for a lower concentration of HCG than the CB ones, especially the digital tests. If you've had two positives on the superdrug tests, take those as positive Smile Also, not only is the sensitivity level higher in the cb test, you used mid morning urine, not fmu, which is more reliable early on in pregnancy. When would you be expecting AF?

Sammie1528 · 13/02/2016 16:16

Thank you :)

It's just a pain having to wait to see doctor now then , need to get everything confirmed so
I can tell work as I am a community carer on my own .

I have pcos (only informed last November) my af have never been regularly. Haven't had one nice September. This is why I'm so surprised.

I'm currently out working and my head is spinning because of the 3rd test .

Do I try another clear blue test again tomorrow morning ?

Definitely best to test in the morning with your first pee, esp if you are only 4 weeks or so. If you got two positives with the super drug ones then there is your answer! No need to do the clear blue one in the morning but can see it would put your mind at ease if you did. Or you could wait a couple
of days and do it. The cheap tests are pretty good. Lots of people don't bother with a digital one and would have just taken the results of the super drug one.
Good luck and congratulations x

unimaginativename13 · 13/02/2016 21:04

Confirm what? You've had two positive tests! I'd say congratulations and stop testing! X

charlottexox · 13/02/2016 21:08

hi hun, this happened to me. I took a test in the morning which gave me a BFP and then tested again before I went to bed just to make sure and it was a BFN. It's probably because you drank water or something and it makes your urine more diluted :-) I took another one the next morning and it was positive again! It was because I had drank a lot in the day! If you're still not sure take a trip to your GP x

Jibberjabberjooo · 13/02/2016 21:12

The GP won't confirm your pregnancy, they'll either refer you to the midwife or tell you to do it yourself. You'll get a booking in appointment at about 8-10 weeks.

I always found clear blue tests a lot less sensitive, it's always best to test with first morning urine. A line is a line so congratulations!

Sammie1528 · 13/02/2016 22:31

Thank you all ,

I will be phoning doctors first thing Monday morning .

I just can't believe it Grin . I've read that a lot of people find the CB test less sensitive this is the first time I've used one I normally just by the cheap ones .

Thank you all again for putting my mind at rest . I will let you know how I get on . X

I guess after 3 years it must be a big shock!! Hope all goes well!

unimaginativename13 · 14/02/2016 11:57

Please make sure you ask the reception what their procedure is. Don't just book an appt with the doctor. It's such a waste of an appt unless your on meds etc X

KittyandTeal · 14/02/2016 12:22

I second the ask the gp receptionist the procedure. When I had my first and second in E Sussex you self referred to the midwife. Now we're in Kent the midwife won't let you self refer and I had to go to the gp (felt like I was really wasting their time but there was no other way of getting into the system)

Sammie1528 · 14/02/2016 12:53

Right ok thank you for letting me know , we have to speak to our receptionist first before getting an appointment any way then we have to wait for the doctor to phone back .

I would forget the clear blue tests and stick to the pink dye tests like first response.

Sammie1528 · 15/02/2016 15:05

Thank you all

I Speken to doctors I've go to go down and sign. Form to get a midwife and to get a scan appointment so they can see how far gone I am because of having pcos and not had af stil September. Hopefully won't be wait to long

Snooksbury · 15/02/2016 19:27

Good they have been helpful, hopefully your scan won't take too long to come through.

Sammie1528 · 17/02/2016 12:47

Went to gp today to sign the form , and got an appointment to see midwife on 2nd March . When they as me how far gone I was I explained that I had pcos and hadn't had a af since September the receptionist still tried to work it out saying I'm 20
Weeks which is impossible. An the embarrassing thing is the reception is all open plan so the patience waiting to be seen could hear everything. Now just got to wait ,just wish I could find out how far gone I am

OP posts:
Snooksbury · 22/02/2016 07:19

Surely if she thought you were 20 weeks she should have got you an emergency appointment a bit sooner?
Is there any way of calling up again and asking to be seen sooner, even by the GP?

Sammie1528 · 22/02/2016 16:14

The receptionist was basing laughing at me because I couldn't tell her how far gone I was . She just looked on system and said oh sorry next appointment we have is 2nd March. Hopefully midwife will be a lot better .

Hi sammie I know this is an old post but today I've had 2 positive tests and 1 negative the negative been the clear blue digital!
What was your outcome?

Hatscats · 26/05/2020 14:59

The weeks one they say to use your first urine of the day.

Vu2193 · 12/06/2020 06:53

This has just happened to me did two test both positive did one following more cb digital and it has come up negative so I am a bit confused

Gibbs18 · 30/12/2020 12:52

I’m in the same boat. I’m 4 days late, having pregnancy symptoms, have gotten 3 positives and one negative. Got bloods done and my hcg level is 2 so they said I’m not pregnant.

sav1233 · 04/01/2021 21:28

@Gibbs18 so why are u getting these positive tests? I've just got a positive test on New Year's Day I think I should be about 5/6 weeks but really worried no symptoms again! Recently suffered 2 miscarriages! X
