About 9pm last night, I got the dreaded D&V bug, being sick & pooing every 20 mins ALL NIGHT (kid you not). Has eased off slightly, hence am on here.

Am 36 weeks and started to get some funny pains underneather as well, so phoned Mat ward and told them. They referred me to GP who was brilliant and phoned me back and asked me to go in to see him. Ihave gastroenteritis and he said 'UCM, they don't want you up at that hospital as they would have to barrier nurse you, Gastro can go through a whole ward really quickly'. He had a feel and said I am 4/5 engaged but he doesn't think it will happen today.

I have a consultant appt tomorrow to decide whether or not I have another section and I don't feel up to going to be honest. But they have no other appts and this out clinic want to see me 'bugs and all'.

I want to hide under a rock and come out sometime in 2008.

Ahh poor you. Hugs and fingers crossed for you!

Poor you - I've been ill too with a nasty cold and sinusitus and am 39+5 weeks - it's no fun. Today is the first day I haven't felt panicked about going into labour. TBH - I was considering a c-section as I couldn't see any other way of having the baby as I was feeling so lousy. But I'm feeling better today and fingers crossed you will too.

I can't see why you have to go tomorrow. I postponed a 36 week 'discussion' until I was 37 weeks because DH was abroad.

twickersmum · 27/12/2006 13:41

hate to say this but are you sure it is a bug?
i had diarrhoea, cramps, sickness the day before i went into labour (both times)... the body's way of clearing itself out i believe.
i therefore think you should go!

Thank you for your sympathy. Was feeling really really sorry for myself. I have managed to keep a glass of squash down.

They simply don't have any appts next week as they are overbooked on every day. I am having a scan tomorrow as well.

I feel very sorry for anyone who has this bloody D&V at the moment. I am pretty sure it's a bug as it's yellow. My tummy muscles, are sore from retching and my bum is sore from overuse. But on the good side, I am not doing them at the moment. I got on my knees and prayed last night for it to stop. I have never done that.

Hopefully it's onwards & upwards now . Pains down below have receded alot too!

Gem13, hope it's soon for you. Don't be drinking any castor oil whatever you do.
