First midwife appointment at 10 and a half weeks?

Hi, I've just found out I pregnant with my 2nd child and rung to arrange my midwife appointments. She said they usually do the first appointment between 8 and 9 weeks. She took all my details, worked out my due date and then gave me an appointment. Aftwrwards I've checked and I will be 10 and a half weeks pregnant at that time. I'm just a bit worried that it's leaving it too late to get booked in for my 12 week scan.

Has anyone else had such a late first appointment? Should I ring back and check it's okay or just leave it be?

Thanks for any advice.

I had my first appointment for my second DC at 10 weeks. My scan was booked in on time at had it at 12+5. If you've got a number for the community midwives there's no harm in giving them a call for your peace of mind.

I'd call for peace of mind too. Their day office number they've given you. All best

Mine was 10 weeks. I had my scan at 12+6. It's normal where I am.

my first appointment was ten weeks and scan at 12+5.

'12 week scan' can be done at up to 14 weeks for nuchal checks, my appt was at 9+4 - scan at 13+2.

If having nuchal afold test 12 week scan can be done from 11 to 13+6. I had my booking appointment today at 10 weeks and was told my scan would be in about 14-16 days, and to expect the letter within a week.

My booking appointment was at 12w. The midwife rang the hospital to get my scan appointment while I was sat there with her.

I got my scan letter before my booking apt because she'd organised it after arranging my appointment.

I had my booking in at 10 weeks and scan at 12+3 but was actually 13 weeks.

From what I can gather on here the booking in at 10 weeks is getting more and more the norm. No real reason I can see to book in too early.

Thanks everyone. I rang them up today and they said it would be better to go in at 9 weeks so have given me an earlier date.

As a bonus the new date falls on my non contact day so I've no longer got to make up an excuse about why I've got an appointment in work time!
