7w pregnant & terrible muscle & joint pain

Good morning! I am seven weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) and in general good health. Over the past four days I have had extreme body aches and pains- as if I have the flu. My joints ache and muscles feel all twitchy. It even wakes me up in the night. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this cause to call the doctor or just part and parcel of morning sickness? Thanks for your help, Fiona.

I think it's fairly 'normal' in early pregnancy, particularly if the pain is equal on both sides.

Having said that, I would mention it to your GP as they can refer you to the physio if it continues on. They may also be able to offer you some reassurance
