Maternity Clothes

Has anyone had any luck finding comfortable, nice fitting and well wearing maternity clothes? I'm sick of buying leggings and tights that just fall down and tops and dresses that just rub up after a few washes.

I'm a size 16, 5'7" and carry low so can't go for bottoms that are normal trousers/ jeans with added bump band. Unfortunately bigger size in non-maternity clothes doesn't work for me either as I get a big bump.

I don't mind paying a little more if I can make a nice capsule maternity wardrobe that fits well. Thankfully I don't go to work so only need casual clothes. So any suggestions please? 😊

34 weeks here and not managed to find any maternity clothes I really like.

Isabella Oliver have a massive sale on at the moment.

I've ordered a couple of Jojo things to try seeing as I was ordering a few baby bits too and given my too stretchy leggings the tumble dryer treatment and it's worked a bit haha. I'm going to order the next brands if this stuff is no good. Anyone struggling with bras for big boobies too Debenhams has a fab range of good fitting maternity/nursing bras.

Guess where I'm going at the end of April too? A wedding!!!! I'm due beginning of July. Wish me luck haha

Actually I found George Asda quite good for basics! I brought a Next dress I liked and mothercare has some nice bits as do mamas and papas.

I'd recommend New Look for basic tops - bought some great ones last week and they're very good value. Like this:

www.newlook.com/shop/maternity/tops/maternity-blue-stripe-long-sleeve-top-_371485249.

ASOS is great for mid-range stuff - I've really liked the Mamalicious range which is available there as it's modern and not at all mumsy, but still comfortable.

Agree that Isabella Oliver is very nice - got a great bright blue work dress in the sale last week and it's very good quality. Was happy to pay £49 in the sale for it but not sure it's worth the full £99 price tag.

Found a nice black pencil skirt from JoJoMamanBebe and the £15 bump bandeau has been incredibly useful for letting me keep my jeans for longer but a lot of the other things seem quite boring and not that useful unless you want to spend your whole pregnancy in a breton stripe jumper and jeans!

Haven't tried many things from Seraphine but did get their "Holi over-bump leggings' which I've found to be good.

I am normally snobby about second hand clothes (I know that is wrong so feel free to judge me!) but I actually didn't want to spend oodles of cash on stuff that I will never wear again ( only having one baby!) so I bought some stuff of eBay for next to nothing. I got some lovely asos dresses that I wear with tights and boots, I often put a nice cardigan over the top too. I also had some baggy dresses from matalan (not maternity) that have been getting me through too.

Try Blossoming Bump - they have dresses which are great for dressing up and down. I had a black one only about £30 which I lived in.

I bought two pairs of the jojo over bump leggings, they are the greatest thing I've bought. Washing them every day at 37 weeks as can't be without them!

I was lucky and got donations from tons of friends but filled in with h&m and new look. In retrospect didn't love the new look jeans but good for shirts. Mamas and papas surprised me by having some great stuff.

Definitely gap maternity jeans - they are the best I've tried for fit and comfort.
