Low White Cell count at 28 week blood test.

So I had my GTT and bloods for 28 weeks my GTT came back normal but my white cell count was low apparently..They didn't seem to be concerned and she said mention it to the midwife next week, but now I am sat here worrying (Ywo late miscarriages so I am worrying).
I can't find much on the net about it normally high white counts..Anyone had any similar? What was the outcome? Do I need to chase it with anyone?

Mine was low too, but I assumed this was normal, as isn't a slightly lowered immune system a fairly famous consequence of pregnancy? Hence why there's a immunes approach to infertility?

I'll ask too, now that you've alerted me to it, in a couple of weeks (if I remember!) as I see a haematologist every 6 weeks or so, but I'm pretty sure it was the same in previous pregnancies.

You've got to worry about something! It's the pregnancy law.

When you have full blood counts done in my experience nearly always something shows up as low. But usually it's a pattern they're looking for and one low thing can just suggest you've had a cold recently, for example. Now, I'm not medically trained so do talk to your HCP about it at the next appointment but try not to worry in the meantime. If it had picked up something really concerning I expect they'd have spoken to you already.

Output gap...Tell me about it! First 19 weeks I was knicker watching now I am worrying about movements! Next 18+ years I will still be worrying!

Hello, this is quite normal so don't worry. The main concern is your body isn't able to fight infection if you are feeling a bit under the weather take your temp a couple of times a day to make sure it is in normal ranges. if you get a fever, call your midwife department.

Also its worth noting that given less ability to fight infection if your pregnancy gets complicated and you need an invasive procedure whilst pregnant- eg an amniotic fluid reduction, it might be worth checking if they can give you antibiotics as a precaution before/during the procedure as those types of procedures do have a small risk of infection and a shot of penicillan will help prepare your body for that risk.

Long story short this is nothing to worry about. I'm having a hideously complicated pregnancy and my neutropenia (low neutrophil count) is the absolute least of my concerns. By itself it really isn't anything to worry about.
