Had a LOT of bloody show, 40+4, just about 2cm dilated, cervix soft and forward and measuring 42 weeks

What do you ladies with experience think? From experience am I likely to be waiting another couple of days or should I be ready for some baby action over next 24 hours

After my show I started contractions pretty much right away so fingers crossed they come soon

I had a big bloody show at 40+4 then more and more on and off through the day, then just after 1am at 40+5 it all kicked off and my DD arrived six hours later :) Fingers crossed for you.

You just can't tell! Every labour is different, but I would be ready for things to kick off. If this is your first baby its unlikely to be fast, but how fast were your mum's labours? It can be relevant (all other things being equal).

Relax could be imminent, might not, but relaxing is always the way forward

Sounds good :) Am ready but trying not to get my hope up too much

My mum had c-section with both me and my younger brother at around 38 weeks so unfortunately unable to compare :(

I had my bloody show and i think labour started within 24/48 hours.. good luck!

Keep mobile and have a warm bath. This is what the nurses advise on the ward. My bath caused my waters to break. Then the fun really started. Prior to that I was losing a lot of my plug but I was having contractions all the time.

My contractions started the same day as my show. Good luck!

I had the sweep on Wednesday woke up at quarter to 3 Thursday morning with the biggest show ever, it kept coming throughout the day with contractions. went to the hospital just to find out I was 2cm dilated. was sent home and went to sleep woke up at half 4 on the Friday with stronger pains with a pushing sensation. tried to ignore it all went to mil where my pains was coming every 3 mins lasting 50 seconds went back up to hospital to be told no change 2 hours later water's broke and I had him 3 hours later.

When I started showing my contractions started straight away just light period pains then got worse then waters broke
