Rhesus negative - bruised bump

Hi,

I'm Rhesus negative and have had my anti-D injection etc for this. I'm 35 weeks and have noticed a little bruise on my bump and it was hurting yesterday in this spot.

Does anyone who is also Rhesus negative know whether this would mean I need to go get another anti-D?

Thanks

I would phone your midwife and ask.

The leaflet I got says to ring midwife if you get knocked etc.

Okay thanks I'll ring up just to be on the safe side. I don't recall knocking it or anything but I must have. Odd! X

I am always bruising myself (usually hips as my brain still thinks I'm smaller than I am) without realising!Am also rhesus neg and 35 weeks so will be interested to see how you get on. Not bruised the bump yet though!
I think it might depend on how big the bruise is! If it were fairly small I don't think I would bother too much but if it's a big one and feels v sore I'd def be phoning midwife. Good luck. Let us know what she says! ☺️

It's not a huge bruise but I'm going to ring up in the morning. Didn't ring tonight cos after googling (which I know you shouldn't!) I have a feeling they'll want me in for another jab and I was just too shattered this evening. I only had my last one 3 weeks ago or something like that so I think I should still be okay, not 100% sure how it works X

This happened to me when I was pregnant - knocked my bump on a wooden chair back that was bruised. I went in to triage to be monitored for an hour then got another dose of anti d to be on the safe side no big deal and midwives were happy to oblige. Better to be safe and not have you stress out

Oops I knew I'd forgotten to do something. Update you all. So I phoned about the bruise and they told me not to worry and that I wouldn't need another jab. They just said that if I had a major bump they would be concerned but as it was minor bruise they weren't concerned Smile
