I'll be 38 weeks on Tuesday and still have looooads to do

Got some painting/decorating to do
Strip and wash pram
Build changing station
Clean fridge and cooker
Buy some stuff for hospital bag (this was supposed to have got down today but dd off school sick)

This baby could actually come any day
I need to get a move on !!!

I'm 37 weeks today- my list is very similar to yours! (Except the strip and wash the pram bit).

Will be doing the DIY bits with the husband this weekend and hitting Boots for the bits I still need for the hospital bag. Also need to clear out fridge and freezer (hoping to batch cook some stuff in advance).

Also hoping to figure out how the TENs machine works and get my 'normal' clothes out of storage in the hope I'll be able to wear them again soon.

I have a steriliser just in case BF doesn't go to plan- I should probably work out how to use that too!

I'm only 35 weeks but trying to crack on with my list today. Need to buy crib bedding, pack bag and finish washing baby clothes. I'm sure there are hundreds of other things I just haven't thought of yet.

Yes cleaning the fridge also includes defrosting the freezer.

Oh forgot about the crib bedding! I still have plenty will need to get that out and washed as well. Can do that at same time as pram though.

35 weeks today. Have Moses basket, buggy, change bag ready. Stuff for me? Ha no chance. Will do bottles closer to the time. Am looking at getting a travel steriliser to take to hospital

Had started a big sort out as I own too much junk then a combo of spd and elderly father being hospitalised has ruined everything.

Will settle for clearing up enough to get baby safely in and being able to tolerate visitors right now - all dreams of domesticity & batch cooking are gone

I've got to defrost my freezer too but I honestly don't have the motivation. Seems like hard work. Just bought some blankets because I'm ashamed to say that crib bedding confuses me. What am I meant to get? I've got a mattress and fitted sheets but then I'm lost.

What kind of crib do you have ? Is it a moses basket or a wooden crib?

I've just got a moses basket so I have loads of fitted sheets flat blankets and a couple of the holey ones can't remember what they're called

You're better having quite a bit of bedding it will get milk/sick/poo on it. If you have a moses basket those sheets should fit your pram too. Not sure about cribs as they are bigger.

It's a crib which seems to be more awkward to buy for! I've got a selection of blankets today which is a start. Totally forgot about pram sheets!

At 37+6 I needed to strip and wash pram, finish packing hospital bag (pjs, snacks&drinks, phone charger), the nursery was full with nothing sorted so needed to do that, batch cook and rest. Baby arrived 38+0! I ended up doing the above, except resting, whilst in early labour!

Oh, and to defrost the freezer, use a hairdryer and wooden spoon, takes less than an hour.

Why is everyone defrosting the freezer? Is it a Done Thing? Because I'm 39 weeks and really can't be bothered...

I'm 38+2 and all day long I think, oh.. I must do this, I must do that. But then as soon as I put my toddler for a nap I seem to find myself lying in bed, getting nothing done.

I have never got to 40 weeks with either of my previous babies so I should really get a wriggle on.

No way am I defrosting the freezer btw.

I'm defrosting mine cos it's got quite a build up of frost taking up a lot of space. DH is going to batch cook so I need the space to freeze the meals. I'm not living on take aways for a fortnight like I did with ds I felt terrible

I'm defrosting mine to batch cook like the perfect housewife so that I can still cook for DH afterwards.

Meanwhile, in the real world...

I'm 38 weeks today and started mat leave on Monday. So far I've done batch cooking, sorted and washed clothes (already have a Dd age 3 and this is another girl), packed bags for hospital and generally tidied up. Our house is a tip so I deliberately left myself stuff to do for the next couple of weeks. I've about I'd say 3 full days tidying left to do. Been taping loads of 80s films to watch and having naps as this will probably be the last time for another year or so that I will get peace! Dd in nursery so me and the dog have been spending some quality time.

What do you need pram sheets for? I assumed you used blankets?!

You can put a sheet in the carrycot bit of the pram, over the mattress, to stop the mattress getting ruined if the baby is sick, or has a leaky nappy or whatever.
Last time I used fitted Moses basket sheets and, when they were in the wash, pillowcases. Will do the same again.

What do you mean by stripping and washing the pram? I've put a clean Moses basket sheet onto the mattress but I didn't know I had to do anything else...

Taking the inside covers out and putting them in the washing machine. And sponge washing anything that can't be stripped. It's been lying in a loft for 3 years so it's needing freshened up.
