28 weeks measuring small

Hi,

I'm 28 weeks and have a midwife app yesterday. I was only measuring 26cm so have been booked in for a growth scan. I've been told not to worry about this but just wondered if anyone else has experience the same?

Thanks

Measured small from 20w with dd2. 2-4 weeks behind right to term. Mw was never concerned. She was over 10lbs.
This time I'm measuring small again and again mw not concerned.

More than likely all will be just fine, just being cautious x

With my DS I measured small all the way through, and to the exclamations of the MW as my 8lbs baby whose head and height were off the top of the chart as he was literally 'forceped' out of me... How did such a big baby come out of your little bump?! I nearly hit her!!! With this baby I'm right on what's expected but I think it's normal to be bigger with number 2... Interestingly I weigh the same! I wouldn't worry at all... Think the bump measurement can be pretty inaccurate!!!

I'm really surprised they've sent you for a growth scan at only 2cm under. I measured 26cm at 28 weeks and 31 at 34 weeks in this pregnancy and the midwife said there was nothing to worry about. She was right - by 36 weeks I was up to 36cm and baby seems fine.

In my last pregnancy I measured 2 or 3cm over throughout and was warned of a huge baby. He was bang on average at 8lb...!

I measured 3-4 weeks behind all the way through, had many growth scans and was told to prepare for a small, early baby.

Ds was induced 5 days over and was 7lb 10oz. Dh had to hot foot it to sainsburys for sleepsuits that weren't 'small baby'.

Try not to worry, its very hard to predict measurements etc. They are known for not being terribly accurate.

I measured exactly the same at 28 wks! They sent me for a scan 5days later and they measured me again and reckoned I was 30 cm! Baby was fine. I think measuring the bump can be a bit hit and miss. I reckon my bump is just a bit smaller but the baby is bang on average! The way I see it, if the heartbeat is fine and it's moving as normal, it's probably fine!
I was just a bit irritated at having to go in for another scan, my other half panicked till I told him to chill out!
