but then i only nuts when pregnant, much to dh dismay

I believe there is some tiny risk of food poisoning, but I've been eating them throughout my pregnancy - always checking dates of course! Yum.

I thought it was "no" but I'd love to know cos I fancy one too! Maybe very fresh and organic free-range eggs would be best??

Sorry to be negative, but I thought it was British egg production that had a lot of salmonella in it, so Lion stamps would not help, would they?
If you are very sure of your source it may be ok though.

Salmonella is the issue. The Lion Mark means that the hen has been innoculated against Salmonella so should be fine. But to be extra sure when I was preggers and craving eggs I went for organic, free range as fresh as possible and also cooked it more on the firm side of runny (i.e. you could still dip stuff in it ... just, but firmer than I would usually have it).

There's SO MANY pregnancy food "laws" now, I just think you have to do your research and decide your own risks.

Incidentally, the recent Salmonella scares have been due to Spanish imports, not British eggs...

Don't worry - I religiously avoided soft cheese - I've since found out that most of the stuff in the supermarket is pasteurised (although you still have to check the label carefully) and would in all likelihood have been fine! Oh well... live and learn!
