Pain after walkiing 27 weeks

Hi I am new to Mumsnet and this is also my first pregnancy. I am nearly 27 weeks pregnant and have had a bit of a difficult pregnancy to date. Not helped by being a worrier and two bleeds at 18 and 22 weeks.

I am very large for my weeks and everyone is commenting on the size of my bump! Though I am not concerned about this as my mother also carried very large with me and I think it is just one of those things. But the size of the bump has made getting around rather difficult already. I am used to being very active and have found this adjustment one of the most difficult during my pregnancy. Going from 3/4 gym sessions a week to maybe one swim and a few small walks a week.

I went for a walk to day lunch for about 40 mins and have been in discomfort ever since. The base of my bump is really aching and perhaps almost a sharp pain. I am hoping I have just stretched a bit too much, but worrying that it may be something more serious. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

I feel your pain and could have totally written this myself. I'm 33 weeks and measuring 36 and have just had to accept in the last week or so that I really can walk more than a couple of km anymore. Went for a mooch at the weekend and my husband had to walk behind me holding my bump up it was aching so much! I've been putting my feet up the last few days and it has helped ease the aches and pains. So frustrating, I hate not being active :-( I can still swim a fair bit, especially if I put a float between my legs to keep them up for half the session.

I'm just glad it keeps raining, at least that way I don't feel quite so bad being stuck inside!
