I want hints and tips on how to make the chances of going into labour early better.

All 3 ds's were late and the thought of going over my dates this time makes me want to weep.

If you think theres nothing to make it sart early, just humour me and make something up.

NO-ONE IS ALLOWED TO SAY SEX!!!!
I'LL HIT THEM WITH A LARGE STICK IF THEY DO!!!

Book something really really fun/pampering for your due date. Either (a) the general principle of Sod's Law will make you go into labour earlier or (b) at least you'll get to enjoy the fun/pampering thing.

I was having lots of regular braxton hick thingy last night. Coming every 15 minutes or so....Had a mild panic because I didn't have my hired TENS machine so walked into town today to arrange it.

Feel happier now I have it.... and knackered because I never walk anywhere. It was about a 3mile round trip so thats's got to help.

Lulu, don't be offended but I'm ignoring your "Nothing works" post....I said Make something up and humour me

accupuncture should do the trick

I've read 'dry-pumping' with a (preferably electric) breast-pump can do the trick... something to do with the nipple stimulation... sounds a bit uncomfortable but definitely makes sense and appeals to the lazy side of me!

LTH -- THIS WILL WORK!!

promise!

spending loads of money luxury items, you don;t need, like chanel lipstick, cashmere socks etc.....you are guaranteed to go over the edge and into labour , i promise! and if you don;t , you will feel pretty darn good anyway !! LOL

and no sex, absolutely no sex at all, ever, until LO at least 16 !!!!!! no sex, no-one ever should recommend that as a way to start labour ! ever , ever , ever!

Is that a better tip!?!?

sex is bad. thats how you get germs.

Oh and orgasms generally are good so if you don't feel up to giving DH a quick one (and who could blame you...) then get him to give you one. Failing that there is always a rampant rabbit.

I completely agree with pampering, pedicures, massages, shopping, movies, etc - even if they do nothing to get you into labour they are fun distractions.
