Birth Plan

I'm 35 weeks, my midwife still hasn't discussed my birth plan with me.. I don't see her again either until 37+3, my stitch comes out at 37 weeks so baby could come before I see my midwife again.

My last pregnancy my midwife didn't do one with me either, I arrived at 6 cm and had to decided in between contractions on what a wanted...

I'm going to sit and write my own, where do I put it in my notes? Just want to be prepared and is there anything you recommend? I'm thinking of a waterbirth again Smile

My midwife didn't discuss this either. I just wrote one myself and popped it in my notes. It really just helped me to figure out what I wanted!

I'm using the NHS template. I figure that it will cover pretty much everything standard, and give me a guide on what I need to read up on. I also guess that they'll be using to seeing plans in that format/order. There's nothing to stop you adding any of your own more individual requests.

I've never discussed a birth plan with the midwife, I just wrote one myself and made sure I handed it over to someone at the hospital. There's loads of info online about what to put in it.

Didn't do one, was on my to do list but squish came 2 weeks early. To be honest I only wanted baby and I safe, which was good as though I got a water birth I ended up with a forceps delivery and manual removal of placenta. At the end of the day they did what needs doing so think of it as a guide rather than a plan.

What Artioo2 said. I've got a midwife appt this week (34+4) but I doubt she'll be interested.

There is a yellow section in your notes that talks about the birth you'd like, I stapled it in there.
