Spotting for fortnight and heavy post coital bleed

I'm going for an early scan on Tuesday, I'll be 8 weeks. GP has been absolutely brilliant, so reassuring. I've been spotting (brown staining on panty liners) for two weeks and first time with husband since finding out and heavy bright pink bleed immediately. Quite distressing as it was like a light period. It stopped though and I feel fine. Stupidly horny actually. Anyone else been through this? It's my first pregnancy and oh so many things go through your head!

Hi OP, I didn't want to read and run but not much advice to give either.

It's quite common to have brown spotting as it's likely to be old blood, something a lot of pregnant women have had including myself.

However I've never had pink/red blood but it's great you've got a scan booked. If you're really worried perhaps you can go to hospital and demand one? Not sure what the "rules" are on that though. Did you say you had pink blood immediately after sex? Perhaps there is a connection..

As for being horny I think lots of pregnant womens libidos can go wither way and sadly for my DP I lost mine.. came right back when LO was a few days old though but was pointless timing as was very bruised from stitching for a long while!

With my ds I had a fairly big bleed at 13 weeks,it was like the first day of a heavy period. I was scanned and everything was fine-ds is now two. The bleeding went on for almost a week, getting lighter and more brown in colour before stopping altogether. At the time I was terrified but the doctor at the epau said that bleeding in pregnancy is very common. Try not to worry too much.
