Hi all,

so I'm 2m pregnant and LO is 11m.

I gained a few stretchmarks during my first and they are white now. Just wondering if it's likely I'll get more as my skin has already stretched. Any experiences?

thanks!

5 years in between my 1st pregnancy and this one.....currently 5 months and getting a very defined bump....quite intrigued by this myself and would like to hear people's experiences

Stretch marks are mostly down to genetics. If your skin is prone to them you're likely to get a few more this time.

There's 20 months between my kids, I got very few with DS1, mostly around my belly piercing and I probably only got about 3 more with DS2.

Yes definitely - I got to 40wks with my 1st, not a single make then she decided to stay put so a few marks appeared. I was roughly the same size with my 2nd and loads of marks appeared much earlier, all quite faint now thoughGrin

Not sure this is what you want to hear... I "snapped back" after ds1 with not a sign of a pregnancy. 2 years later and while I don't have stretch marks my skin is like a sad deflated balloon after ds2. Even though I only put on half the weight I had while pg with ds1. I'm due dc3 beginning of Feb and I'm not optimistic!!! I'm scared at how my stomach will look but hopeful that I can get the rest of me back. I agree with it bring down to genes. My mum was unscathed after having me got all her stretch marks/loose skin after having my younger brother. Good luck all. .... And don't even ask me about the state of my boobs!!!!!Shock

I'm 36 + 2 with second. I got a fair few first time round, so far I've had no new ones, but some of the larger ones from before are beginning to 'pink up' a bit. I was expecting a lot worse!!!

30 weeks here with baby no 1. Not a stretch mark to be seen yet, well not a new one at any rate Smile. I was covered in old stretch marks before pregnancy so I'm not holding my breath that I'll escape a new crop completely.

I was very very big before so my skin was stretched far more than it is now but I am still expecting them any day.

Dogsmom · 29/12/2015 19:40

I've had two girls and no stretchmarks at all despite gaining 4 stone and not using any lotions, my Mom didn't get any either so I do agree with the genetics theory.

MistleToastyFingers · 01/01/2016 14:45

I didn't get any with dd, who arrived at 41 weeks, 39+1 with dc2 now and have a few on my hips but nothing on my stomach as of yet.

I do moisturise fairly regularly, I can't imagine it's much help, but it certainly won't hurt.

3rd pregnancy and no stretch marks

LoadsaBlusher · 01/01/2016 16:54

Two pregnancies and zero stretch marks .
I think it must be genetic , or good luck .
I didn't put any weight on except the actual weight of baby plus fluid though so not sure if this helps too .

Got a couple below my bellybutton around 39/40 weeks with dd1, currently at 39 weeks with second and have a gazilion of them this time round! I think my bump is now mostly stretch marks!
