Merry Christmas Eve eve Xmas Grin

Just wondering when people started carrying their notes? Some of my friends only ever took them to appointments (which is all I have ever done) but others have carried them since 12 week scan...

I'm 41 weeks and I don't take them anywhere. Admittedly I don't go very far, no more then 5 miles from home. If I was to go a long way, visiting friends or family then I might be temptered to bung them in the car. Personally I have never gone into a very sudden and intense labour, always been a long gradual build up so I would have plenty of time to come home and pick them up x

We would never trust notes to decide what blood group to give. A pregnant woman would just get O neg if we couldn't wait for the cross-match (which can be done in 15 minutes in a proper emergency.)

I never bothered carrying my notes around with me. As it is, my local hospital has gone to all electronic notes now so I don't have any notes to carry around this time, even if I wanted to. (Pregnant with DC5.)

Well I have been told off for not carrying them around but have spent last two days in hospital with them and given them to every doctor and no one has looked at them. Started at early pregnancy unit then a&e. About to have appendix out at 15 weeks!

I've carried mine since I got them. I just have a rucksack (easier to make sure I always have snacks and a bottle of water and helps beat the carrier bag charge)

Thank you to the poster who said they had taken a photo on their phone of important pages. I'm high risk so going to.do this for the bit where the consultant wrote the plan for my care.

Also going to make sure I get the main page with my nhs and hospital number on so I can help speed up any access to electronic records in an emergency admission.
