Little things DP's do

I thought I'd like to praise my OH. I moan at him, pick on him, shout at him and he still wants to treat me.

he's paying for me to have a pamper day today as we've had a few scares and said I'm getting too stressed.

anyone else want to praise their DP :)

A lovely thread to start especially as OH can get a bit of flack round here at times

My OH is great. He does so much for me due to chronic pain condition that has been made worse in pregnancy!

Helping me off the sofa
Helping me put underwear on
Helping me up stairs
Covering for me when I don't want to see people.
The best thing he does is just understands and never (seems) to get fed up with me even though it must be hard on him too

Other than the usual caring for me, lifting me, supporting me, waiting on me etc, my favourite thing he does is that he doesn't mention when pregnancy brain strikes.

I pour orange juice in his tea, he doesn't mention it. I put a butter knife in his lunch box instead of a spoon, he doesn't mention it. I completely mess up my sentences and say nonsense without realising it, he doesn't mention it and pretends I said the right thing. He's a good'un :)

...even when I proudly say to people that I have had no pregnancy brain moments, he smiles and agrees with me. It was alot later on that he eventually told me all the silly things I'd done haha

Oh what a lovely thread! My DH is being lovely to me whilst I am pregnant, very understanding and helpful. Keeps telling me to stop doing too much and then making me cups of camomile tea and sympathising when I'm knackered cause I went ahead and did it anyway!

Smashing thread, and one I hope sticks and gets a bit of momentum.

I think the husbands/partners get a little bit forgotten about while it's all going on. I'm having a rough time with depression and bleeding in the first trimester, and DP has picked up all the slack in the house while I am being useless.

It's his baby too and if he's as scared as I am, he's doing a really good job of not showing it.

Waiting for him to get back from work so I can give him a hug and say thanks.

Dp is the loveliest bloke I know,
He took care of dd and I when I spent the first 5 months so sick I couldn't leave the sofa, cooked, cleaned and did all the shopping, even though the supermarket gives him the rage.

He's my best friend in the whole world, and I'm feeling particularly soppy about him today. Bloody hormones.

when my OH got back from work I literally done everything for him as I feel like I don't show him enough. he's just hasn't stopped cuddling me since :)

He's just been brilliant since day 1. He would do anything to keep me and the baby happy and comfy.

I do feel like he misses out on the little things like feeling the kicks as our baby seems to behave the second anyone touches my stomach but then he'll come for a cuddle and sing to the bump and I realise all over again just how much he loves us.

My OH has been commuting 2 hours each way for the last couple of weeks (he usually lives away from home mon-fri) because my horrible pregnancy sickness has returned and I'm exhausted! Can't imagine how crap it is to drive 2 hours home after an 11 hour shift, to a crack den of a house and a girlfriend crying on the bathroom floor :( but he acts like it's completely fine and says he wouldn't be anywhere else :)
Everyone we know fusses over me for being poorly and he's just left on the sidelines a bit, but I think he deserves a medal for putting up with it all!

My dh has been excellent through the whole ttc/pregnancy journey. Took us a while ti get here but he never gave up hope! Very positive and now I'm 36w and we've had a few scares and he's been an absolute rock.
He's organised all big items crib/cot/unit/pram bought paid for and built. He's always been there for me not only in pregnancy. He works hard to provide us financial stability. He compromises on nights out/drinking. He's brilliant with his nice/nephew/friends kids and can't wait ti have his own. He often does housework and with a bit of persuasion some DIY! Feel like I'm bragging a bit but my DH I cannot fault

My DH is a smasher too. He's currently making me tea while I lie on the sofa with a blanket and mumsnet as I'm exhausted. And before that he spent the evening looking after 19m DS and doing housework! I'm very very lucky and thankful

The other DPs sound lovely too!

My DP works 6 days a week to provide for me and DS. He never takes any time off expect over Christmas and he has got up every morning with DS every morning since he's been off so that I can have a lie in as I have been quite poorly with this pregnancy. He's not moaned, just got on with it.

I had a very traumatic and stressful first pregnancy with DS due to family issues and DP was brilliant. He really did everything in his power to defend me and make sure that I was okay and that I felt secure when my whole world was turned upside down.

After having DS I went around to PILs house to thank them for raising such a wonderful man. It was probably hormones but I was in floods of tears - happy ones though!

He also treated me to some jewellery and make up yesterday to cheer me up.

He makes me very proud every day.

as I'm so close to my due date he keeps refusing to go out but tonight his mates are all going out for a meal and drinks and told him I'm making him go as he deserved it and if he argued with me he won't hear the end of it xD I can be quite forceful at times.

also like you elfish he has stuck up for me when I had family problems during this pregnancy even though at times I was in the wrong. I love him madly for it
