Should I ring the labour ward?

26+6 weeks pregnant here. Been feeling baby move since 19 weeks. This last week she has been very active until today where I havnt felt anything that's defiantly baby moving. She moved last night in bed. I was told at 17 week gender scan I had an anterior placenta and at 20 week scam I was told I had a fundal placenta so tbh I don't really know

Have you tried drinking an icy cold drink and lying on your side for a bit to see if you can feel anything? Anterior placenta means front wall of the uterus where fundal means at the top so yiur placenta can be both - mine is.

Yes call them. It's probably fine but better to be sure. They'll probably tell you to lie down quiet and drink/eat something cold if you haven't already, so you could try that while you call. Better to go and be checked though and everything be fine than ignore it if there is something wrong.

Not the labour ward, but your MCU or midwife, yes. Although foodie's suggestion of a cold drink is useful, if you're worried, get in for a scan asap.

I would try the cold/hot drink and something sweet first as they will most likely ask you to do that. I also have anterior placenta and went to hospital a couple of days ago with same concern (28 weeks now). Better to get it checked if you have concerns even if it turns out to be nothing I wouldn't have got any sleep had I not have gone!

Having an anterior placenta can mask babys movements, however if your movements change or you haven't felt any then you need to get checked.
We have to phone the dau between 8am to 8 pm after its labour ward so depends where you live really.

Sorry I am a bit evangelical about this. I have had 2 friends who wish they had gone in sooner. I myself had reduced movements with my first and was induced because of it. I had some reduction with my second and they discovered my waters were too low and so monitored me carefully. I am grateful I checked why this had changed in both my pregnancies.

Please please call. Please please check.

If in doubt, call. They'd always rather see someone who was cautious and tell them everything was fine than see someone who waited too long.

Hi everyone.
I phoned and they said I could go in. They found heartbeat on Doppler and baby was kicking the Doppler but I couldn't feel it!! So strange to know she's moving and I couldn't feel it. I think she is just being cheeky. They said they don't do the actual ctg monitoring until 28 weeks.

27 weeks tomorrow. She measured fundal height which was 25cm but I forgot to mention it was also 25cm at my 25 week midwife app. Is this ok? I see my midwife next week for 28 week app at 27+5.

Glad everything is ok OP. I have had this a few times. I'm 28 weeks and sometimes I can't feel movement but I can see it on the outside and vicer versa

Hi scared. I went in for reduced movements yesterday too and baby is fine. I went on the trace. My baby was moving around a lot as well the midwife was lovely and so happy I went in said I did the right thing. Don't dwell on the measurements, sometimes they're off for no reason at all, I'm sure it's fine but your midwife will be able to help with any queries at your appointment. Take care.

So pleased to hear everything is ok.

Thanks for the support about my friends, one was a sad case, but was always sad outcome even if she had noticed earlier.

The other wishes she had gone earlier, they can't say if it would have helped.

I just can't say enough how important it is to check things out. I have never heard of midwives saying they wish you hadn't come. I have only ever heard them say they would rather check.

Fundal height can be difficult to measure accurately. At 33w I had a MW measure 35 and an Obs 2 days later measure 32. I have an anterior high placenta and I think they can struggle to find their starting position.
