No symptons

I wonder if someone can be totally honest with me or put my mind at ease.

I found out I am pregnant on Saturday 9th December. I went to docs on Monday and everything fine. Worked out I am 6 weeks tomorrow and due on 14th August 2007.

However, I am slightly worried as the only symptons I have are the obvious no period, a period like pain that comes and goes and when I cough or move suddenly I get a twinge. Also my boobs have got just a tiny tiny bit bigger. Nothing that anyone would notice.

I would have thought that by now the cramps would have gone and boobs getting massive and very sore. And perhaps sickness (but I know that not all women suffer from this). I just thought that I'd feel different.

Could I have lost the baby already? I just feel like period is going to turn up any minute and all I seem to be doing is running to the loo to check that there is no bleeding.

Thanks for listening to me going on but being a first timer I am so anxious and do not know what I am supposed to be feeling yet.

I would speak to your doctor if you are worried about the cramps, every woman is different so it is impossible to say how you should feel!! I was pregnant with my first DD and did not find out til I was 5 months, so I obviously did not have any sypmtoms LOL

Take care xx

lazyemma · 13/12/2006 12:42

It's totally normal not to have much in the way of symptoms at this stage. At 6 weeks, my boobs were only slightly bigger and slightly achey. Apart from cramps and niggles which sound just like yours, I didn't have any other symptoms at all. I'm sure lots of other people will be along shortly with similar experiences.

endlesslove · 13/12/2006 12:53

Thank you for replying so quickly. I suppose its only natural to worry. Although I don't want the sickness (but who does!) I want the sore boobs etc to know that I am pregnant. It just doesn't feel real at the moment and I want some symptons to just remind me!!!

I hope your right in that some other mums can share their experiences.

I am just praying that this little one sticks. Am so worried about miscarriage. Suppose we all go through this.

xx

i had cramps til about 10 weeks with ds1, didnt realise i was pg as i really thought it was my period coming. no symptoms at all with ds2, it was a wonderful pregnancy!

congrats

LemonTart · 13/12/2006 13:05

endless love, it is so stressful isn?t it? Feels like every minute or every day stretches out forever, each week ticks by so slowly and you can?t stop thinking about what might go wrong! Totally empathise with the rushing to the loo - I did this for a full 40 weeks! Bad news is that this is only the start of the worrying - just carries on when the arrive. mine are 3 and 5 and I still worry every day. Part of being a parent.
It is true that diff pregnancies give diff symptoms. Both of mine varied drastically. Was very ill with one and felt "unpregnant" with the other - both scenarios worried me half to death! I also bled with both, fortunately stopped - not after frightening me silly and rushing in for scans. I cramped on and off all the way through DD1 pregnancy. Boobs were dreadful with her but nothing noticeable at all with my boobs with DD2. Very very sick with DD1 and much less with DD2.
I would allow your plans for Christmas to distract you as much as possible, get plenty of rest when you feel tired and don?t beat yourself up about worrying - no point in telling you to relax and not worry as it is almost impossible. Just don?t worry about worrying

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 13:09

I wouldn't worry too much yet - get an early scan if you're really worried. Pant checking is normal! Enjoy the first few weeks of pg with no symptoms then brace yourself for the sickness (not everyone suffers though LOL), constipation, sore boobs...endless list emoticon.

Good luck and congratulations

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 13/12/2006 13:12

endless you sound like me at six weeks. I had the occasional period like cramp which came and went which continued until I was around 10 weeks. At around 7/8 nausea kicked in (not sick once.

If you re worried maybe a chat with the gp would help. It is normal to not have loads of symptoms. All three of my Pg's have been very varied but with each one I did have the crampy thing.

saffymum · 13/12/2006 13:12

Only a few symptoms and you are complaining, you lucky girl you should be celebrating. Most of us were doubled over hugging a toilet by now! Just relax and take it easy as mild cramps are normal all through pregnacy although some people don't even notice them. You have plenty of time to go up a few bra sizes trust me 32 b to a 32 GG when the milk came in.

marymillington · 13/12/2006 13:14

there is no way that you are supposed to feel - every pregnancy is different. honestly, worrying is a waste of energy - concentrate on eating well and taking care of yourself instead.

plenty of time for feeling really really rough yet!

congratualtions

endlesslove · 13/12/2006 13:33

Thank you so much for your advice. I understand the sick thing is totally different with everyone. My main concern I suppose is the fact that my boobs don't hurt and from the internet sites and books that I have read they all state that boobs would severly hurt at this stage to the point where it hurts to put a bra on.

You are all so right about worrying, its just so hard to stop!!! I am going to spend the next few weeks looking forward to Christmas and celebrating.

I am also worried, as I have told a few people and now wish I hadn't just in case i have jinxed myself and something may go wrong.

Oh worries!

well, mine didn't, with either pregnancy. so be kind to yourself and don't
stress.

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 13/12/2006 13:39

With both dd's me boobs only started killing me at the end, especially when they were born and me boobs felt like bolders when the milk came in

This time have had sore boobs from again around 7/8 weeks. It's not good I tell ya

Am sure you are fine chuck, less readin what these sites say . Please talk to EPU or Gp when worried.

saffymum · 13/12/2006 13:40

Its totally normal to worry, I was a total hypochondriac through the whole pregnancy and nothing really went wrong just horrid morning sickness. I was at the doc's with every twinge but everyone is different, some sail through and others do struggle. A friend just spent 4 weeks off work with morning sickness, it got so severe and she couldn't keep anything down. She's better now at 6 months and just glowing. Take care and enjoy Christmas and have fun eating anything you like, its one time in your life you can indulge and not feel guilty!

lazyemma · 13/12/2006 13:45

my boobs were mildly achey at worst, certainly nothing like to the extent where it hurt to put a bra on. Seems a long time ago now (hark at me, all of 23 weeks preg!) but I do remember obsessing about this too, along with the million other things - "do my breasts hurt enough? why haven't I got the metal taste? why haven't I gone off any food? why isn't my nose super-sensitive? what's wrong with me?" - that the internet told me I should have noticed by then.

endlesslove · 13/12/2006 13:51

Thank you everyone. I feel a little better now.

endlesslove, I remember these feeling so well! It's so worrying at the time.

I am also a first timer and HAD to tell work as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Because everybody at work knew I only thought it was fair to tell family and friends.Like you said, I worried so much that because people knew (so early) that I had 'jinxed' my pg! Ridiculous really, but I was so anxious.

It was even worse when people would say "well it's early days yet...?" This used to panic me no end! It's a difficult time and natural to worry, we've all been through it! Take care xx

BibiJesus · 13/12/2006 15:39

I knew I was pg with dd way before period was due as I had breasts full of boiling oil and had to sleep on my back, but hardly ever felt sick and threw up twice the whole time. The second time (m/c at 16wks) my boobs were a little tender but I felt sick as a dog all day every day without actually being sick. This time I barely feel anything, nipples are tender but not boobs and I too am checking pants every time I go for a wee, in fact I just posted about it on another thread.

I don't know what to think really, except that either
a. I am v lucky or
b. the worst is yet to come!!!

Chin up, we'll be throwing up seventeen thousand time a day by this time next week and won't we be sorry for moaning then?!

missingmywine · 13/12/2006 15:57

Hi guys - me too. Approx 6/7 wks pg, only symptoms extremem tiredness (what more than normal - no sickness and defo no sore boobs. Also posted this on the 'due Aug' thread and appreciated all the feedback - realise I am lucky and enjoy it, & with 2 DD's and a f/t job am too busy to be sick anyway!

endlesslove · 15/12/2006 12:28

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words. Such a wonderful site this, just listening to other people's views on what you need to know about conception, pregancy and parenting is so so supportive.

Still worried today though - no symptons!!!

Was planning on telling both sets of parents on Christmas day. But now I don't know whether too just in case I am not pregnant.

Also, do you think my doctor would do anything if I went to see him to let him know that I have no symptons. Don't want to waste anyone's time.

Thanks again everyone. You are sooo helpful.xxx

endlesslove I had no symptoms when I was pg with DS2 and was utterly paranoid that I had lost him. He was also an August birthday. However, on boxing day I woke up feeling as sick as a dog! So you really can't tell.

babylove123 · 15/12/2006 21:53
