i bled quite profusely in both pregnancies, don't know why I do, but I just did. Two healthy boys.

am sure you and your baby are fine, but phone the dr just to make sure and set your mind at rest. it is perfectly normal though.
and of coruse it was the right thing to do taking the morning off. you need to think of you my dear!! just relax. it will be ok.

I bled with DS1, had a scan and all was well, just call doctors and get checked out.

You were right to rest as well.

julezboo · 13/12/2006 09:52

I bled with this onefrom week 6 - 16. Now 30 weeks and all is still well

Sure you both are fine hon!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/12/2006 09:55

I bled pretty much all the way through my pregnancy with my little boy. That was a slight problem with the placenta or something and they said there was no reason for it to happen again.

Im wondering if its the same thing, completely unrelated but fine or something more sinister.

Suppose all I can do is sit it out - Im loathed to try and get an early scan in case its too early to see anything anyway and I get sent home with more worry.

At 5+6 I'd avoid an early scan, as it's pretty early to see a heartbeat and you might be worrying unnecessarily. If it really is only a little bleeding and no pain, I'd wait it out if you can (I know how unbearable it can be). Rest won't change the outcome at this stage one way or the other, but it might help you to be kind to yourself.
I think I remember reading somewhere that half of all healthy pgs have at least one episode of bleeding. Hope all is well

Whats bleeding a little?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/12/2006 12:35

the bleeding is more than spotting but not full on bleeding.

just there when i wipe but enough to soak the tissue

it is bright red but no clots

Its probably just an implantation bleed. I would be worried if there were clots or you could fill a pad.

newlywedmumtobe · 13/12/2006 13:41

I'm going through the same at the moment so it's reassuring to see these replies. Had a m/c in July and just confirmed pregnant again and bleeding - bright red when I wipe but no pain/clots. Terrified it will be another m/c - plus have PCO so don't know if to do with this. Have doctor appt Friday so trying to hold out for this. Hope things settle for you Peckarollover.

I bled from conception until about 8 weeks (bright red - sounds similar amount to yours) - it tailed off then started again very heavily at about 10 weeks for a couple of days (which I was led to believe was implantation bleed) - but went onto have a healthy little boy. I believe that 90% of people who bleed go on to have a healthy pg/baby so maybe that will put your mind at rest.

I would ring the doctor but I was told that I couldn't have a scan until 6 weeks (?) as there would be no point - was just told to rest which you are doing - don't feel guilty about letting people down - you are more important

I bled at 16 weeks with dd, not a lot, just when I wiped and it turned out to be cervical errosion and nothing to worry about.

I had a very similar bleed at 16 weeks with my second pregnancy which I was convinved was the same thing, nearly didn't bother going to get it checked, but it turned out I had a missed m/c.

I'm not tryiong worry you, just saying that you should get it checked out. Better to do that and feel reassured than sit at home worrying. Get on the blower and book an appointment!
