tmi but very wet down there . is it normal ?

Sorry but tmi but never experienced this with my other pregnancies I am 21 weeks and have noticed for the last few week I have felt wet down p below pretty much constantly. I'm assuming it's down to increase in hormones. Sex has been very frustrating for a few weeks now it is literally too wet to get any friction which results in frustration for both of us. It's extremely embarrassing .

Is this normal ? And more importantly do things go back to "normal" after baby arrives.

I was saying this to my mum yesterday. I am 26 weeks and have felt wet for a while now! I know it's not my waters so I'm assuming it's just hormones. I have to wear a pad. I sat on the bed with no knickers on the other day and left a damp patch!

Um, in one pregnancy, I had this and it turned out I had thrush ...

Battleshiphips2 this makes me feel better I'm not alone .

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos I had thrush with one of my other pregnancies and it wasn't like this so I hadn't even considered that . Did you have itching /white discharge with it or was it just "wetness" ?

It was itchy, but I just thought it was because I was close to term and, er, my thighs were rubbing. Not much discharge, but very wet.

Yup. Very normal. I wore panty liners from the second trimester in my first pregnancy, and just about getting to that point again (10 weeks today...)

Thanks TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos that's something I will definitely look out for . Sorry to ask but where you able to get treatment whilst pregnant ? Hopefully it is thrush another 20 weeks like this doesn't sound fun.

Hamsolo so glad to hear it's not just me , never had it with the other 2 so wasn't expecting it . Did everything go back to normal afterwards ?

yes normal i had it in all my pregancys. i get paranoid thinking im bleeding and im not. when i have had it its a very white colour no oder to it no soreness or anything.

It was a very odd situation: I never said anything to my Midwife, as I thought it was normal. They told me after they had delivered my stillborn Baby, saying "Oh, btw, you've got thrush ...

You can have pessary and cream for thrush when pregnant - just insert the pessary with your finger rather than the applicator.

I had extreme wetness, and thrush. The thrush cleared up and I'm less wet, but still very very wet!

It was worst week 20 -24 amd has dried up a bit since then.

I just got treated for thrush too as I had so much discharge and was tested. Pessary only needed as I wasn't itchy at all so had no idea

Yup though just hormones here, not thrush.

Me too. Turned out to be thrush, but had no other symptoms. Treated with a pessary.

I had this in my last pregnancy. Also had thrush once which was definitely something completely different. I just put it down to the fact my pregnancy hormones had me permanently 'in the mood' Looks like it could well be the same this time as now the morning sickness has eased a tiny bit I'm back feeling like I'm on heat! Sigh I don't have the energy to expend on this type of activity, I need everything I've got to keep the toddler alive and the house standing during the day!

I'm 22 weeks and experiencing what you describe. Somedays it's even a gush but it's clear/white and not smelly and no itching. I've had thrush before, and the discharge was distinctly different for me (think stinky cottage cheese) with some definite itching.

If in doubt, ask the midwife!
