So i have just (in last 3 hours) found out i am expecting!

Problem is, i have been in my new job since 17th october... i am on a 3 month probation contract etc.. if they do not notice and i get to 12 weeks, will i be ok?

I cannot afford to loose my job!

Ta xx

Congratulation! And deep breaths...

You do not have to tell your employer that you are pregnant until you are 25 weeks.

They cannot dismiss you on the grounds of being pregnant.

You will be fine! Good luck x

If they were to dismiss you prior to your 3 month probation period and you suspected they knew about your pregnancy you have good grounds for appeal. Similarly, if you tell them about your pregnancy you become protected by discrimination legislation, however you don't have to tell them until 25 weeks. But depending on your industry you may wish to tell them early so they can adjust your work.
