Different scans will show different things. It depends on a lot of factors. With DS I saw a heartbeat at 5+6. With my second pregnancy (ended in MC) I had a scan at 6+4 (was actually 5+6) and saw a sac with fetal pole but no heartbeat.

Can you give us a bit more info? Are you 5+0? If so I would say don't worry unless you've had other symptoms such as spotting or cramping which might be a cause for concern. If not, then the chances are all is fine but it's just too early to spot anything yet.

Did you have an internal scan? Often external ones at this stage show up very little.

Bad cramping for over a week.
Have only known for a week today.

Conception was 7nov
(I dont get periods) so they are putting me down as around 5 and a half weeks.

Even if you were absolutely, 100% certain of your dates then the chances are you will have to go back for another scan in a couple of weeks to check progress or wait until your 12 week scan.

Cramps can be normal in early pregnancy.

I know it's hard but try not to panic. Find things to distract yourself. Can you book another scan in a couple of weeks for reassurance?

Cramps like period pains? Totally normal - I got them for about 12 weeks on and off. Try to look after yourself and relax xxx
