I have a 16 month old dd and we're thinking about trying for another baby early next year. However as I suffered for five months with hyperenesis in my first pregnancy I'm worried of having it again next time. Just wondered if anyone else had it and how they coped with it when they already had one child to look after???

What is it?

Really bad morning sicknes and you usually end up in hospital on a drip because of dehydration. You literally can't keep anything down, not even water for ages, in my case five months.

OMG that must be awful - I fortunately didint have early symptoms in first pregnancy - this pregnancy however is totally different and am sick all the time. So if its of any concellation no two pregnancies are the same - so they say.

Hi Hels

coping with HG in a subsequent pregnancy

Apperently it only onccurs in about i in 1000 pregnancies and if you have in once there's a 75% chance you'll get it again. Just not sure what I'll do with dd if I'm like it again. I didn't really get out of bed for 5 months and am a SAHM. Desperatly want another child though so will just have to deal with it. How far gone are you?

9+ weeks. Nothing to worry about on my part I was just trying to make you feel better by saying it might not happen in next PG.
