Possible miscarraige.. not sure please help!!

Hi ladies,

So here's the situation.
I have a 15mo LB who I was breastfeeding so I went on micronor mini pill when he was around 3/4 months.
I haven't had a period since he was conceive (two years ago).
The past couple of weeks I've had really bad lower back ache much like I did with my first pregnancy. I thought nothing of it really until on sunday i started bleeding totally unexpectedly light pink blood that was quite a light flow with stomach
Over the last couple of days this has changed to bright red with clots.

I have severe stomach and back cramps that are now spreading to my legs im struggling to even walk properly and pain killers aren't touching it.
I'm not the type to just take pain relief I haven't had any since LO was about 2 weeks old. So it concerns me that the pain isn't relieved by them.

Two questions 1) is this just my first period?- if so why now?
2) is it possible i was pregnant and am losing bubs?

I am really sorry, it could very well be a miscarriage, please take a pregnancy test as the hormones will be with you for a few days and would give a positive test.

Take it easy and have paracetamol for pain relief

I did take one yesterday but only a cheap one but after i looked it was one that needs 20ui would that be too high if it is a miscarraige.

I feel like im being a bit paranoid but I really think it would be a random time to have a period now, you know?

Hi there, I don't know much about whether 20ui would be too high but I think you should do another test. Try a superdrug test, they're supposed to be the most sensitive. Sending hugs

I am not sure what 20ui means but from the picture, it does look like a positive. How is the pain and bleeding today? If it is a miscarriage there is little you can do, take pain relief and be kind to yourself. It normally take about 10-14 days before the pregnancy hormones leave, so testing again in 14 days would provide greater certainty but obviously not change the outcome.

I'm not so sure it is a positive- the "positive test line" (far left) is in the wrong place and is too far away from the control line. I would be tempted to do another one. I have some of these same strip preg tests, and Whenever I've done Them and they have been negative, I've always had an extra pink line which appears far left, like the one In the picture. It has usually travelled up the test and disappeared eventually. I would def do another test so you know what's what.

It would be unplanned if it is a pregnancy as I'm on the pill which is why I'm concerned about the bleeding. I'm away working at the moment only got a tesco near by so I'm going to pop there. Will their test be okay would you say?
