Whether or not it will be starting today, most days!! Normally by saying 'are you crowning yet?!'

It's getting very frustrating as 'I DON'T KNOW!!!!'

He's gauging whether he can risk a beer, which I don't mind at all. It's the not knowing that's annoying.

Anyone else's OH doing this?

Tell him to stop now. You could have 5 weeks of that. Nip it in the bud!

Also, does he know what crowning is or is that a joke?Confused

My DP seemed to think that baby would miraculously appear on their due date, to the point of booking annual leave rather than paternity with DS. Despite DD being week late 4 years previously, he still had faith that DS would arrive on EDD. DS duly arrived a week late and DP got just 4 days at home with us before having to return to work.

I may never forgive him.

At 36+5 I'd be a bit concerned if you went into labour so I'm not sure why your DH is so keen for it to happen. I'd be giving him a long, gruesome, fact laden talk about how the body goes into labour and what happens during labour. then I'd poke him in the eye and telling him to STFU.

If you were crowning, hed be the one catching the baby Grin Tell him this then plonk him down in front of OBEM and ask if he fancies playing midwife.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 22/11/2015 19:52

Crowning? I think he needs to read a book on labour!
And whether he can risk a beer, I'd say drink drive limit at this stage as labour isn't always long. DC1 was EMCS within 30 mins (no crowning there!)

teamrigby · 22/11/2015 21:04

He knows what crowning is, he's making a joke of it.

Don't get your hopes up. I know plenty of people who were early babies themselves who had late babies.

Honestly, I don't mean to sound patronising, but I'm a veteran of three very late babies. It might be mildly amusing and a bit irritating now. In a month (if you get that far) you will want to flush his head down the loo! Nip it in the bud.

You will warn him if anything happens. You will warn him not to drink whenever you want to, even if it is just a twinge. Until then, he stops asking at risk of making you feel the largest watched pot in town.

I know how you feel, with my last pregnancy dh would ask me if I knew sort of when it would happen, when my waters would break etc all the bloody time!
Ffs wouldn't it be great if we all knew when our babies would come.
Im nearly 32 weeks and he knows not to ask me these again.

teamrigby · 23/11/2015 11:00

Thanks for all your advice :) it is quite endearing but beginning to be bloody annoying! :)

Lol! I'm now 40+8 and believe I would throat slam my partner if he'd been asking me for the last 5 weeks! You'll get enough of this from every friend and family member in around 3 weeks time! I'd try and put an end to it now 😂😂

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 23/11/2015 11:31

Hang in there eiys. My latest got to 41 +6 so I feel your pain. Just try and channel your zen, and link anyone who bugs you to haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com/

Catheric · 23/11/2015 11:38

My DC3 is now 6 weeks old but she came on her due date in the bathroom. DH played midwife when I screamed 'there's a head!'.. Tell your DH to practice catching a slippery wriggly thing just in case you do crown unexpectedly Grin

Kaytee1987 · 25/11/2015 12:30

Lol I'm 5+3 so told my husband baby would be at end of July. He asked when we will know exactly when it will arrive lol. Told him it's an estimated due date and no one knows exactly when baby will arrive (couldn't be bothered explaining elective sections or inductions at this point)
