Am nearly seven weeks pg. Have our booking scan on Thursday (Will be 7+3)

Just wondering what the best time to tell DD(nearly 4) and DSD (twelve years old)

DSD said a while ago if I ever got pregnant again she'd want to know as soon as we did. We did tell her I was pg in August but unfortunately I mc so I'm a bit more cautious this time round.

DD is only 3. 4 just b4 christmas. Nine months is a long time to wait for her. Anyway atm she isn't impressed with babies. When asked what she thought of her baby cousin she said " he is too loud and gives me a headache. He cries all the time"

What would be the best time for each of them

hmmm maybe tell the 12 yr old soon, she would rather know even if the worst happened but leave the 4 yr old for a while but then if you are going to be talking about it and she hears little snippets she may think something else is happeneing and get confused and scared. also if she isn't inot babies you may want the time to change her mind

we waited til our 20 week scan to tell ds1 that we was pregnant. we had arranged to take him with us for the scan so we got to the hospital and he was like "whay are we here?" and we told him to see if mummy has a baby in her tummy and he replied well i want a brother. so we went in to have the scan and asked to be told what the sex of the baby was and the technician said " a boy" and ds1 stood up and said "i told u i was gonna get a brother".

i agree 9 months is a long time to wait when you are so little, definately wait til after 12 weeks (sil told my ds1 when she was expecting and when she miscarried 2 weeks later it was down to us to explain why she wasnt having a baby anymore which wasnt at all nice)

Sorry to hear that Corina but that is why i'm holding off. DSD was very good about the m/c but didn't quite understand. She'd never experienced it before. She couldn't work out how you can be pregnant one week and then not the next. It took a while to explain.

we told dd(4yrs) after our nuchal scan at 12 wks, she was bounding all over me and was getting worried about why I kept being sick, good luck with your decision

My DD is also 3. I will be 7 weeks at Christmas and we are planning on telling her then. She keeps asking for a baby brother or sister so we think it will be a lovely Christmas suprise.
