depends if you're bf - if you are, they can take months and months to come back (but can be back surprisingly quickly in some cases ), if not, I think cycles tend to start after you've finished bleeding.

There is no set answer to this. If you are bottlefeeding it is likely to be quicker. If you are breastfeeding, then your periods may not return until you stop feeding at night or stop breastfeeding altogether. FWIW, I am breastfeeding and mine returned after 14 weeks but have been very irregular (have only just had the second period and DD is nearly 6 months old). I have heard of some people getting theirs back even earlier. If you do a search, you will find lots of threads on this subject and will see that there is a very wide range which is normal.
I am sure I read somewhere that the earlier periods return after birth, the less likely they are to be regular to begin with. HTH.

I bottle fed and they returned exactly 6 weeks after the birth. My sil bfed and it also came 6 weeks after. I think it varies for everyone.
