Is really starting to wind me up. Yes I have a big(ish) belly for 23 weeks but I haven't put weight on anywhere else! Ahhhh!
I know people say it affectionately (I hope) but seriously. Enough now!

Anyone else finding this?

Rant over!

This hasn't happened to me yet but im still in the early stages of this pregnancy! In my last pregnancy, I gained 2 stone and didn't even look that pregnant at the end and I still got nasty comments that, at the time, really hurt me and caused me to have trouble with my changing shape! I now put it down to jealousy! please don't let these comments affect you!! Love your pregnant body and feel proud of the wonderful job it's doing!! People can keep there opinions to themselves, and if they don't, it's water off a ducks back Smile

My dh''s new affectionate term for me is chubs! Hmm

I don't mind too much, but in general people could be a bit more sensitive I agree. ..it's not all that easy accepting our changing bodies as it is , even though it's for a top reason :)

sepa · 12/11/2015 19:38

If it was oh I wouldn't mind. This is just other people like at work.
I am finding it hard to deal with my expanding body but I think it's mostly to do with being really short so I think I look massive!

I got this.....from my boss Hmm

Now I'm 29 weeks and belly is fully blooming it doesn't bother me as much, you've got the random stranger belly rubs to look forward to next!

Icklepickle101 · 12/11/2015 19:42

I also struggled with body image issues but I've found the bigger I've got the more comfortable I am, I found tight clothing helped show off my bump as a definite baby rather than baggy clothes making me look a bit porky which helped my confidence!

sepa · 12/11/2015 19:46

I'm really worried about strangers touching me!
I agree about wearing tighter clothes to show its a bump. I got a jumper from next (maternity one) which looked like an oversized jumper before I showed. Now it looks like I am trying to hide rolls of fat so I don't like it anymore (even though it's comfortable) hopefully it will look good again soon

I was and thought it would really bother me, I haven't let anyone but DP touch me but I actually quite liked it the first time a little old lady came and gave me belly a cuddle, it made made her so so happy!

MrsCrimshaw · 12/11/2015 19:57

I hate the daily comments about my size. This morning I had "I swear you're getting bigger every day" I told them that was the idea! I developed quite a big bump fairly early on and thought I'd be immune to the "Sure you're not having twins" type comments by now - but no - it still p*sses me off just as much. It's one of the reasons I'm glad to be leaving work tomorrow! Chin up xx

Danglyweed · 12/11/2015 20:16

My sweet little 3 year old, while I was pregnant with twins, out of the blue said to me "dont worry mummy, youre not fat, youre just a little piggy cause the babies". Ive never gotten particularly big when pregnant, just looked like I had a chubby middle, so this comment had me in absolute stitches.

At the end of the day, its absolutely no ones business whether youre fat/thin/pregnant or whatever. Your opinion is all that matters

Loki17 · 12/11/2015 21:03

'I'm pregnant, what's your excuse?' Said all bright, breezy and giggly.

mumingball · 13/11/2015 09:07

I'd definitely react like Loki17 :)
For people touching my belly: took their hand and put them far from my belly. Some people are just very physical and need to be told that this is not nice!

sepa · 13/11/2015 09:41

If they wasn't my clients then I would. I could just lose business if I did that! Lol.
I don't see why people think pregnancy is an automatic invite to touch you!

I remember my brother in law saying "gosh you wouldn't even know you were pregnant", then my sister laughing and saying "well youd think she had a pretty weird body if you didn't realise it was a baby!!!!" Thanks for that one!!!! Lol.
