Hello all, would massively appreciate some reassurance.

Am about 7 1/2 weeks pregnant, and my so far my symptoms have been sore boobs, very slight nausea, tugging pains, and overwhelming tiredness in the afternoons. This weekend I got in a complete state as boobs felt much less sore and became convinced I was about to m/c. Nothing happened though, and symptoms seemed to return. Today though, boobs feel entirely back to normal and no nausea. Again, I'm feeling completely beside myself...am going for early scan on Monday so hopefully will put my mind at rest. But to get me through the weekend without having a nervous breakdown and driving DH up the wall, have any of you had mild symptoms that very much come and go and it turn out to be fine? xxx

Yes - symptoms do fluctuate. My symptoms were almost exactly the same as yours at 7 1/2 weeks and they came and went all the time. I'm 23 weeks now. Good luck for the scan - I hope it does put your mind at rest.

Thanks Lazyemaa, that's really reassuring! It's just all so scary - I just spent the past half hour in tears convinced something was wrong. Anyone else go though this? xx

Hi glittercaz,

I didn't have much in the way of symptoms at all in the first trimester - just mega-sore boobs, and yes, I definitely felt that fluctuated as there were times when I thought they were less sore and I started to worry about it, and then the next day they were back to full strength again!

I'm nearly 22 weeks now...

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 08/12/2006 14:21

There is fluctuation, but for me I find that 4-8 weeks is always the worst. Once I get to the 9th months most symptoms go away, except for fatigue which stays with me.

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 08/12/2006 14:22

months=week

glittercaz · 08/12/2006 14:47

thank you. am still feeling pretty scared though

boobs feel entirely back to normal, am so worried this is a bad sign...

I think I posted something very similar to your thread when I was about 7 weeks. I was in a complete tizz because I had lost that metalic taste which was just about my only symptom and was convinced it was all going wrong. (I was particularly paranoid having previously lost two pregnancies and spent a lof of time crying). Anyway, I got lots of reassurance that symptoms come and go early on and not to worry. I had a scan at 7 weeks that showed up a heart beat and was greatly reassured by that. Apparantly, once you have seen a heartbear, you have a 95% chance that it will all be OK. I am now 34 weeks, so am definite proof that all is not lost just because your symptoms disappear.

marymillington · 08/12/2006 17:53

Mine did. Scared the hell out of me.

But all is well with this little one (31 weeks now). Hope it will be with yours too.

Worry is a wasted emotion, try to enjoy your weekend and feel positive.

bobblehead · 08/12/2006 18:10

Mine did too and it made me really paranoid. I think they were generally better if I was less tired. Now 23 weeks and worrying when the baby seems to move more some days than others. I think the paranoia begins from conception and then continues forever

CorrieDale · 08/12/2006 18:14

God yes. Yesterday I felt great - best I'd felt in 6 weeks (nearly 11 weeks pg now). Today, I feel crap. It's been like that all the way through this time - last time, I was permanently sick/queasy for 12 weeks. But at least I knew that when I started to feel better, I was on the home stretch. This time, I have a horrible feeling I'll be sick off and on for a while to come.

glittercaz · 08/12/2006 18:28

You ladies are amazing...

thank you so much for your wise words, i suppose it's to do with all the hormone levels going up and down (which obviously doesn't help with the high levels of tearful paranoia either!)

you have all made me feel a bit more relaxed. thank god for MN xxxx

Hope the scan gives reassurance

paulaplumpbottom · 11/12/2006 12:50

Pop in to ask your doctor. Its better than worrying about it. Hope your scan goes well.

Ashinagai · 21/05/2012 08:12

Thank you ladies! I am 5 weeks and my symptoms have gone from crazy dizziness to nothing at all apart from sore boobs and I am FREAKING OUT! First pregnancy so no idea what to expect. Having another HCG & progesterone test this pm to make sure everything is going well.
Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences, as it's so early I can't TALK to anyone!! xxxx

yes mine have fluctated all the way through this pregnancy, I am 13 weeks on wednesday ( as far as I know) and have my scan tomorrow. I don't think I've had a week where for a couple of days at a time I haven't been worried them bam they hit again.
I am sitting at my desk right now feeling really sick after my neusea almost dissapeared at 8 weeks.. which isnt really fair as I'm doing a double shift today - 16 hours arrgh.

mrswee · 21/05/2012 09:50

didnt notice this was such and old thread, but I hope it helps you Ashinagai

Ashinagai · 21/05/2012 10:57

Is it normal to have on and off pregnancy symptoms during the first trimester?

The whole story is this. I have had two miscarriages 3 years ago and started trying for pregnancy a year ago. Nothing happened for months but I suddenly found that I am pregnant two weeks ago. My periods are irregular. Due to bad history, I have been asked to get scanned every week. In the scan last week, they found gestational sack, yoke sac and foetal pole but no heart beat yet. Sonographer said it's pretty normal and asked me to come back in week.

Before getting to know I was pregnant, I didn't have any symptoms other than severe bloating. Then started having Nausea and breast tenderness, which used to be more during mid-day. Symptoms were there for a week and since this morning, I don't have any nausea. Just some tiredness and a bit of soreness in breasts. No cramps or bleeding.

I am starting to worry if I have miscarried again 😰 my next scan is this Friday.. could anybody tell if this kind of pattern is normal or should I be worried about it ?

Hello, how's your pregnancy going? My symptoms are fluctuating too hence why I stumbled upon this post. Had more symptoms this time around so hoping all is okay this time.
