sciatica?

I'm 16 weeks pregnant. I walk around a lot during the day at my job. By lunchtime my lower back feels a bit 'clicky'.
In the evening when I go to bed I'm fine lying on my back but if I turn over or stretch my legs out I get shooting pains in my bumcheeks, hips and down my legs. It's a weird pain - not excruciating but really sharp and slightly tickly (if that makes any sense!)
Is this sciatica? If so, does anyone have any tips on dealing with it? Thanks for any advice! Smile

Could be sciatica but could also be pelvic girdle pain, particularly as you have the classic symptom of it hurting whilst turning in bed.

Best thing if it is stopping you from functioning would be to mention to midwife/get referral to physio (in some trusts you can self-refer to physio during pregnancy).

Tips for dealing - no sudden movements, keep knees clamped together when moving, use arms to push yourself up/over. Try to walk through the pain and don't adopt an altered gait to compensate.

Totally anecdotal, but I had particularly bad pain, particularly in bed, between weeks 11 - 16 and then it settled down. Hope you don't suffer too long.

Thank you - I have an appointment with the midwife in a couple of weeks so I'll mention it then.
Will try the keeping my knees together when turning!
