Babies movement

21+3 here.
Been felling baby move since the 19th week. Normally an active little thing in the evening. Since two days ago I have felt nothing though. I know she can move etc but it's so worrying for mum. Phoned hospital who said they don't monitor this early and all they can do is use a Doppler. I have my own Doppler and her heartbeat was their Saturday night but don't want to start using it all the time.
Is it normal to have some days with nothing at this stage? Have rung mau again and they say they can't monitor before 25-26 weeks

Placenta position is fundal, now low. That's what it says in scan report.
Also I've tried cold water, fizzy drinks, sugary food lying on left side she just isn't letting me feel her move

Normally before 24 weeks you dont get a regular pattern as there is plenty of room in there, so its unlikley you will be able to feel all the movements, but also pre 24 weeks there isnt much they can do to help.

Between now and then, you just have to take a deep breath and think positive, its really hard, I really struggled to stay positive early on after a miscarrage at the start of the year.

Thanks.
Still nothing today. Hospital won't see me at this stage they said

Your own doppler is not recommended though, you could just as easily be picking up the placenta as the baby. Have a look at count the kicks campaign on this.

I would ring your community Midwife in the morning.

Thanks. I'm terrified :(

I am 22 + 5 and my baby did this for a few days and after being quiet for 2ish days. I have felt baby move so I now know s/he is fine. There is still lots of room to hide in there.
How active are you throughout the day? Try being inactive for a bit with a cold surgery drink and something sweet after your evening meal (apparently after food the baby is more likely to be active).

Call your MW or get an appointment with your GP tomorrow if you still haven't felt anything.
I hope your little one moves for you soon.

This happened me last weekend when i just turned 23 weeks, think i went a day without feeling anything at all, then eventually felt small movements before having bigger ones again on Monday. It was truly terrifying and i tried everything to encourage movement too. I put it down to baby moving into a different position as it was extremely active before the movement stopped. Please try not to worry too much, as others have said they wont entertain it until after 24 weeks. I know how it feels though Flowers

Could your community midwife offer you a listen, even if the hospital won't?

SweepTheHalls · 13/11/2015 09:06
