Measuring the same now as I did almost 5 weeks ago :(

Routine midwife appointment this morning. She measured fundal height and it was 24cm - same as last appointment when I was 24 weeks. I'm now almost 29 weeks.
I'm really worried....I'm being sent for a scan this afternoon.
The baby is transverse but has been the whole time, so that doesn't really explain it. I am tall - but again surely there'd have been some change since early October?

I wouldn't worry. I was told by midwife that according to my fundus measurements, baby was in the 95th centile. The growth scan showed I was a perfectly ordinary 50th centile. Fundal height measurements depend on the skill of the individual midwife and in my experience, aren't always very accurate.

I had to have daily monitoring do got measured most days in last 3 weeks. The only consistent thing was that every single midwife got a different results, and it fluctuated sometimes by up to 7 cm. it is good that they are giving you a scan, which will be another chance for you to see your baby, but hopefully there will be absolutely nothing to it. Lots of luck.

Also I think your body shape can affect it. I'm sadly chunky round the stomach, which can increase it, but if you have a nice toned formerly flat stomach, I think that can hold everything in and make it seem smaller. My washboard friend was told her baby would be tiny - he was 9lbs and being held in place by her abs!

Midwife told me I was measuring average and let me go to 42 weeks despite FMC scans putting ds in the 99th centile for pretty much every measurement. He was 10.5lbs when induced and got properly stuck. Shoulder dystopia. They also missed the fact that he was back to back and had me fruitlessly pushing for 2 hours. I guess what I'm saying is I'd take their measurement with a pinch of salt and rely on scans only!

I also wouldn't worry too much about this - those tape measurements are notoriously unprecise, and you will find that every midwife does them differently.
Also, every woman carries differently, babies have growth spurts at different times etc. I got sent for a growth scan when pg with DS a few years ago because I was measuring too big (different mw from my regular one), and the scan shown that DS was bang on the average measurements.
Hopefully, they will reassure you at the scan today!

I had the opposite problem - growth scans showed DS to be off the chart (estimated 12lb at term ) and I was begging my midwife to induce me before 40 weeks, but she insisted that he didn't look or feel abnormally large to her. He was just under 8lbs at birth!

My cousin measured small continually (and looked it) = 8.6 baby girl. Everyone thought my bump was huge (DD1 6.1; DD2 5:13). This bump is entirely average (but growth scans due owing to DD2 "small" size.
