So I'm 5 weeks, 5 days PP. I had a vaginal delivery, with no stitches or anything. Very easy for me being a first time mom giving birth. I had sex (unprotected) using the pull out method at 3 weeks, 4 days PP. We got a little tipsy and it just happened. MY QUESTION IS.... I have been bleeding since I left the hospital, it lightened up and went brown which is when we had sex, started up a little again red and now it's back bright red and more of it. But it's been 15 days since we had sex. Yesterday I took 2 pregnancy tests and they were a faint line positive, and I took a digital and it said NEG. but the day before I took one and it was neg. with no line. And a week prior I took one and it was neg. I'm just confused. i don't know if I'm pregnant again or not.

Are you breast or bottle feeding? Breastfeeding can give some protection against pregnancy.

I breast fed for the first week after having her and then the second week I was doing both. The 3rd week I stopped all together and have just been doing formula

Breastfeeding for a week will have had no contraceptive benefit and you can be highly fertile postpartum. A positive test, even a faint one is likely to mean pregnancy. I'm sure you realise this is a potential consequence of unprotected sex.

Well, That's why I ended up with my first child. So i think I know what unprotected sex does. What I'm really asking, is because one was negative the same day I got the positives, could it just mean that it's my Hcg levels from giving birth not long ago?

The digital ones are notorious for giving false positives as it looks for higher levels of hcg that's the normal ones so I would say ignore the digital as could be too early for it to pick up

I think digital are less sensitive than many standard line tests, so that might explain the mix of results.

If I was u I'd go to gp to get a blood tests and expertise on whether recent pregnancy could affect results

Good luck

Yeah because the digital said negative and the regular test had 2 lines for a positive. I'm going to get my blood drawn on Tuesday. I'm just freaking out and hoping it's my hormone levels. But I had a negative test like 2 weeks ago, and so it makes me think if I had a negative before and now I have a positive, how could it even be my hormones causing the positive? If that was the case then the test 2 weeks ago should have been positive as well. Idk. I'm just crazy worried. My whole family is gonna look at me like I'm stupid if I'm pregnant again after I JUST gave birth 6 weeks ago... ??

Yes the digital is likely to not be sensitive enough to pick it up yet, if you are pregnant. You probably don't even need to go for blood tests, just test again tomorrow with a sensitive test.
