When did all you mummies start buying for your babies?
I'm 18 weeks & 3days, wondering if it's too early? X x

I started at 5 weeks bought a few things to occupy myself although wouldn't recommend starting that early to anyone. I then didn't buy anything as wanted to pass 20 weeks but dp bought everything and had it in by 19 weeks he was far to impatient x

I'm nearly 27 weeks, I've honestly not brought a thing this pregnancy! I have all the major things from my 18 month old and I have a box full of unisex clothes which was from my last pregnancy. I'm having a suprise baby this time round so my husband will be doing the clothes shopping after baby is born. I'd personally wait until 24 weeks, but I don't see anything wrong with buying little things here and there :-)

I started immediately, pretty much, but really kicked off after the 12 week scan.

TreeSparrow · 07/11/2015 19:03

Gradually bought stuff from after the 20wk scan

We ordered out pram at 18 weeks and bought little bits and pieces. The bulk of things we bought we 30 weeks plus. I didn't want to tempt fate and my DH had some convincing to do for me to order the pram so early. (He wanted to order it, I wanted to wait!).

Oysterbabe · 07/11/2015 20:07

We picked up a few bits from 20 weeks but just today placed a massive John Lewis order for most of the things we need. I'm 28 weeks. I still feel a bit nervous about it but DH is really keen to get everything organised now.

tinyme135 · 08/11/2015 07:36

I didn't buy anything till 20 weeks and that was only the pram as it was on special off. buy the pram and the carseat for free, how could we refuse. then at about 28 weeks oh nan got us our moses basket and now at 31 weeks my nan has taken me out on a massive shopping spree to get the rest.

toohardtothinkofaname · 08/11/2015 07:43

Pram around 20 weeks as on offer. Got handed down clothes around 29 weeks. 32 weeks now & friend threw a baby shower for us & not much else needed!

I'm 27 weeks and have bought the carrycot attachment for my pram (already had the pram because of three year old DC). We also picked up a co sleeping cot yesterday that is up and now it's up I can't be bothered to take it all down, so it's by the side of my bed lol, just waiting. At some point very soon I'll get all the newborn stuff down from the loft and think about packing a hospital bag.

I don't think 18 weeks is too early to get a few bits and bobs. Maybe wait until after the 20 weeks scan to get the bigger more expensive stuff.

I started buying at 21 weeks and was given stuff (Moses basket) at 20 weeks. I will be ordering my pram at about 26 weeks and cot bed around the same time
