Food stuck in throat constantly

Hello all,

I am 24 weeks pregnant and I have this horrible gaggy feeling after I eat, as though the food hasn't gone all the way done my stomach and is just sitting in my throat. I drink water to push it down my throat which seems to help for a few minutes and then it starts again. It can be like this for hours after I eat. Puts me off eating really.

Anyone else had this? And if so, did you find a way to make the feeling go away?
I feel pretty miserable feeling like this.

TIA
Panther

Have you had your thyroid checked? What you've described can be a symptom (although it wouldn't be food you can feel but rather your thyroid is swollen and makes your throat uncomfortable).

Thanks Toots for replying.

Would that be part of the normal checks that the hospital does as part of the antenatal checks? I am sorry for the ignorance.
If it is then all tests came clear.

This just started in the past week. I have tried calling my GP and unfortunately there's no availability to be seen until next week.

Have you tried gaviscon or similar - sort of a similar sensation to reflux which I suffer with massively in preg
Sometimes it feels burny like bile is in my throat and other times when it's a bit milder it feels like a lumpy like I haven't swallowed my food properly.

I has this when I was pregnant, nothing would shift it! It felt like I constantly had a piece of food stuck in my throat but was actually caused by acid reflux! I went to the doctors and got this white peppermint liquid I think it began with m or something, sorry that's not much help. I'm not sure what it was called but it was much better than gaviscon and I had it before meals and before bed and within 2 days I was back to normal.
