Contractions???

Hi guys....since about 4am I think I've been having irregular contractions, although I'm not sure ?? they are like period pains which last between 30 secs and a minute but are anything from 10 mins to an hour apart?? Could this be the start of things? I'm currently 39+3 lost plug over a week ago and tmi alert my wee was smelling sweet last night also!
I'm reluctant to bother the lovely midwives at the hospital quite yet.

Sounds like the start of things, I'd keep track of the contractions you have and try and relax. Have you got a ball to bounce on? I found mine helpful in both my labours. Try and stay hydrated too.

I had irregular contractions the day before i went into labour! Get as much sleep as you can and good luck!

Thank you your replies. I'm trying to keep active, walking around and doing some housework. It's hard to decide what are contractions and what is baby causing pain sometimes. ?? cheers guys

Hi Gemmy firstly congratulations! I had all kinds of pains for weeks leading up to my due date, I kept saying I don't know if this is it, all my mum kept saying was when the real thing happens you will know, she couldn't explain any better than that, just that I wouldn't have to ask and I would know it was a real contraction, sure enough she was right.....as soon as I had that first contraction I just knew, it was different to all the other pains I had been having.
