Reassurance needed about weight loss

I'm probably overthinking this but I am a little worried at the moment.
Within the first few weeks of morning sickness (5-7) I lost about 6 pounds and I have still not put on any weight (I'm now nearly 15 weeks). Sickness has eased but still nauseous and struggling to eat real food. Surviving on crisps and yoghurt drinks with the odd bite of dinner - managed about 2 mouthfuls of chicken last night. I'm taking vit b, iron and folic acid.

I'm just wondering when it's time to take to the midwife about this?

Oops - posted too soon - I have an appointment in over 2 weeks time but think she will be in my local surgery tomorrow - is it worth ringing to discuss or any advice about eating would be very helpful!
Thanks

Weeks 4-13 I lost 8lbs. Weeks 16-24 I slowly put it back on, weeks 25- now, steady weight gain. Don't worry. Baby gets everything it needs. Try and eat a balanced diet and keep your fluids up. Milk or milkshake is nutritionally helpful.

I had HG and lost weight. I'm now 36 weeks pregnant and still haven't put it on again I'm the same weight now as at my booking scan

I'm 20 weeks and still about 5 pounds under my starting weight due to HG. It's not a problem at all as long as the baby is measuring fine at your scan. I guess you've had your 12 week and it was all ok?

I found out Monday I was expecting and have lost 3 pounds (1 per day). Not worried as I am eating, just very little due to MS. I'm not underweight - healthy weight so not worried. Only 7 weeks along so plenty of time to gain it back.

I lost about 11lb in trimester one. Put on about 14lb by the end all of which is now gone after birth four weeks ago.

Unless you're dangerously underweight then the baby will take what it needs. Eat whatever you can keep down and keep hydrated. I loved on very thinly sliced apples, yoghurt and chocolates for weeks! Babs is healthy albeit was a bit smaller than expected.

Still, talk to your midwife/doc. There are medications that can help.

I had a similar conversation with a midwife on Monday. i'm 17 weeks along with twins and I'm still feeling ill/vomming at least 4 out of 7 days in a week and down 5 kilos on my prepregnancy weight.

now I have weight to lose, which might make a bit of a difference, but my midwife was not concerned at all. She said that I will get weighed at the start and end of my pregnancy only and what happens in between doesn't matter, so long as I'm functioning and not losing dramatic amounts of weight in a short period of time. She said that some women will lose weight during pregnancy and so long as you aren't depriving yourself that is ok, just eat what you need and what you can manage, babies are resiliant and will make sure they get what they need.

By all means raise it with your doc or midwife, but don't stress about it or worry that you are doing damage.

It partly depends on your starting weight. If you were underweight to begin with, then it might be a problem. If you were a healthy weight, then I wouldn't worry.

Provided you are getting the essential vitamins you need at this stage, your body will tell you if it needs more.

I think it's only if you have really severe morning sickness, or morning sickness that lasts a really long time that you need to be worried.

I would recommend you take a multivitamin including calcium, folic acid and vit d and iron. The baby will get the nutrients from you, but you will struggle to meet your micronutrient requirements. Try not to worry about your weight but definately discuss at mw appt

I was overweight to start with and 22 weeks in I have lost 8kg from my booking in weight. I was going to Slimming World and lost a couple of kilos initially but pretty much since the start of my 2nd trimester I've lost the rest... I've not been trying to lose weight but I completely lost my appetite, had a chest infection so that's all had an effect.

Obviously my circumstances are very different to yours but as a PP has said the baby will get the nutrients it needs. I just try to eat well, no snacking, lots of protein and a variety of fruit and veg so that even though I'm not eating a lot it's all good stuff!
