Trapped wind really high up... Ouch!

I'm only 6 weeks but I've been having the most awful bloating and wind for just over a week. It just keeps getting worse and today it's been so painful but not low down like it normally is but really high up, sort of near my diaphragm on the left side near my ribs. I can't seem to get rid of it and it's been like this since about 5pm. Usually I can burp it away but even that's not working! It's ok if I stay still but as soon as I move it really hurts. My dd has a stomach bug atm and I've had a bit of diarrhoea so that's clearly not helping. My stomach is making all sorts of noises! I don't know whether to eat or have gaviscon or what. Does anyone have any advice?

A cup of peppermint tea should help....

Try rubbing your belly or getting someone to wind u as silly as it sound it does work if they are persistent. Also could try a hot drink it helps me. And drink really fast and then hopefully pressure will push burp up. If that doesn't work hopefully someone else will have some advice. Are you sure it's trapped wind and not indigestion

It might well be indigestion actually... That's usually higher up isn't it?

Yea up by ribs can travel through back can sometimes also feel like spasms in the diaphragm. Gaviscon should help it

That sounds about right... On the gaviscon already! Didn't need it until much further down the line last time... Gaviscon must make a fortune off pregnant women!

Lie on left side, rub tummy in clockwise direction. Peppermint tea should also help.

I remember getting quite bad trapped wind / indigestion in the early weeks. Nothing felt right for weeks.

Hopefully is will settle soon. I've had awful upper back and rib pain from bloating/wind this time but it is starting to ease a little now so long as I don't over eat. I'll be 12 weeks on Saturday Smile
