I was wondering where you are referred for maternity if you live in West Essex? Is it the hospital in Harlow or any other options?

Not from there myself but friends there. I gather that people in North West Essex sometimes go up to Cambridge.

Sorry I meant South West Essex - Loughton, Buckhurst Hill,

i'd assume a lot of people would go to queens in romford?

I live in West Essex and recently had my daughter at the Princess Alexandra in Harlow. As far as I know, for Loughton and the surrounding areas, you have the choice of Whipps Cross or the Princess Alex.

I found the maternity unit to be excellent at PAH and would have no qualms about going there again for any other children I have.

Thanks everyone. I am glad to hear that about PAH. I never hear any good about Whipps Cross!

Everyone I know in Loughton comes to PAH. I gave birth there in 2012, and would be again this year if I wasn't aiming for a home birth.
