Not hungry at 15.5 weeks?

Ok so realise that it's perfectly normal to be upset and emotional at this stage now, but I don't have much of an appetite either! Is this normal and has anybody else had this as well? Getting worried cause if I don't eat then neither does bean. Should I force myself to eat, even if i'm not hungry? At the minute I can go all day on eating a couple of bits of toast and fruit. I need to know if this is gonna do any damage. At 15.5 weeks with being in my second trimester I thought i'd be eating loads, but i'm not. I'm eating less than I would normaly, even if i wasn't pregnant.

Oh, I thought this was a 15 week old baby who won't eat

Are you still feeling morning sicknessy? Or do you just not feel like eating? Remember, in pregnancy the baby won't suffer, the body will divert all resources to it rather than you. I'd definitely be chucking a vitamin supplement in there and trying to feel like eating more - but as I say, if you're still feeling sick, it's only to be expected.

No my sickness passed weeks ago - though it was really bad. This worries me more cause I hardly ate during first trimester either cause I was soooo ill! Vitamin Supplement's a good idea, hadn't thought of that. Any recomendations on which one to get?

I used the Pregnacare one, seemed good.

I think I would just make myself eat if I were you. Doesn't need to be masses, but get some fresh veg down your neck - and meat too, if you aren't a veggie. Will your dp/dh cook for you?

I'm 20 weeks and still dont eat very much... I get hunger pangs which i can usually satisfy with a slice of toast.. I would LOVE to be able to sit down to a 3 course meal, but I guess after 14 weeks of sickenss my stomach has just shrunk. Infact I got weighed this morning and have only put on 2lb!!

Try and keep snacking, and eat what you fancy.. sometimes that helps you eat more, other than that dont stress-you and the little one will be fine

I don't have a dh/dp, going it alone. I haven't put on much wait either, I have the beginings of a bump - but still v. small. I'm exactly the same geordie, get a hunger pang and can make it settle by eating an apple or a piece of toast and i'm good for another few hours! Think i'll go shoppin now and see if i can buy some nice fresh food that might encourage my tummy to start grumbling! (fgrin)

I was like this until 2 weeks ago, I am now 14.5 weeks. I was really sick until that time, then when it stopped I just didnt feel like eating.

Now I'm not hungry like I used to be pre-preg, but eat at times I normally did because I know I should even if I don't eat very much. The thought of veggies turns my stomach, but I can eat salad and some fruit which is at least something. I still find it hard to cook as the smells send me abit funny, but if you've not got a dp to cook for you, maybe try getting some nice ready made food which is really easy to do in the microwave.

I also bought myself some cashew nuts which are lovely and are at least a change from toast (thought I know exactly where you are coming from).

If you're really not eating much, you should get your blood and urine tested for deficiencies - I'm sure your mw can arrange it for you. That way you know what you need to supplement, if anything (iron? Folic acid? B vits?). They'll check for ketones in your urine, which is a sign you're not eating enough. A little food might be enough for you, but it's worth checking.

And if you can't eat much but it's not actually making you ill, try gegs' suggestion of nuts. Healthy and calorific all in a small handful!
