Advice needed - early scan and fluid

Hoping someone can give me some advice please. I had a private reassurance scan at 9 1/2 weeks yesterday and baby measured perfect with heartbeat but was told there was a lot of fluid at the back of neck and head. They didn't tell me what the measurement was but said to come back in a week for a rescan and if it's the same they would give me a referral letter. I was obviously very upset and asked them about the harmony test which they offer. They said they could do it after the next scan.

I have so many questions and wondered if anyone that's been in a similar situation can give me some advice. I've been looking into the Fetal medical centre and wondering whether to go there for another scan and the harmony? Are there any other private clinics that people would recommend?

I can't help thinking the worst. It's so horrible when we were hoping to share our good news soon.

9 1/2 weeks is a little early for nuchal fold measurement so by next week it may be totally normal. Also, nuchal fold is one of several factors which indicate an issue. Try not to worry, which I know is easier said than done. Good luck.

I went to the fetal medical centre and they were brilliant. There was no reason for me to that I knew of, just that I have two close friends who unexpectedly had children with chromosomal problems that were only discovered at birth.
Anyway, I found the FMC brilliant and since the all clear I've been far more relaxed in this pregnancy than with my 2 DD's. At my 20 week NHS scan my senior consultant sonographer raved about the harmony test and the FMC. The NHS are introducing it in the next few years.
If you can afford it then go for it, get the 99% peace of mind accuracy.

Happy to answer any questions you have on it.

I really hope so junosmum but I think the sonographer only took the measurement and mentioned it as the fluid was so obvious.

Thanks for the advice on FMC. Sounds like people only have good things to say about them so I'm going to give them a call tomorrow.

Hi bluewisteria I've got an appointment at FMC tomorrow so we'll see if they also pick up on the fluid and what they have to say about it. I'm going to have the harmony done. Feeling really anxious about it all but trying to just take it one step at a time.
