Maternity Leave - Holiday rights

Just want to check my rights re maternity leave:

Due date is 29.05.07
Our holiday period runs 01.04 - 31.03.
I plan to take 1 years maternity.
I am entitled to statutory maternity pay only.
I get 20 days holiday p/a. (Yes I work for Scrooge)

If I take 4 weeks holiday up to my due date (i.e. leave work 30.04), and then decide at the end of the year NOT to go back to work, am I entitled to keep the holiday money?

I plan to resign 1 month before the year ends as contractually required.

Yes, you're entitled to all of your holiday entitlement whilst on maternity leave. I am also taking my holiday for the year at the start of my maternity leave. Thus, my last day in teh office will be about 2.5 weeks before I actually start my MAT leave.

If you don't take the "holiday" you will get the money instead when you get your final pay cheque.

yes in theory but not sure they have to agree to you taking it all upfront , ie. they could prorata your entitlement 2/12 * 20 days for the months of the holiday year you are actually working before ML starts then the balance could be tagged on the end of ML or paid in lieu plus the prorata of your notice period as it falls into a new holiday year.
