Pain in left lower abdomen when weeing? And also slight back pain on same side, could this just be baby laying on a nerve or something?

I get this, particularly if my bladder is a bit too full when I go. I think the combination of the emptying bladder and the baby being moved coz of that causes it to move on to a nerve sometimes.

It could be but at 17wks the baby is still small and doesn't weigh very much so shouldn't be causing much pressure. I am almost 18wks..

It may be worth getting gp to test urine as pain when weeing can be a sign of infection which you will need treating.

Ive rung my midwife since then and she informed me it is just a baby laying on a nerve and any weight and pressure onto a nerve that isn't usually touched will cause slight pain, but she said it's not anything to worry about, as long as no burning then all is okay

I always thought it was a ligament. I'd pee and as I did it would feel like I was pulling a ligament badly. So painful!
