I'm 30 weeks pregnant and since this morning I have been having sharp pelvic pain which was accompanied with back pain earlier, I had a bath and went back bed because walking around seemed to make it worse and I felt much better after a sleep but it's back again now. It's not severe but I can't move quickly and it does hurt to walk. I have no other symptoms and baby is moving as normal - is this something to worry about or not? I don't know weather to phone the hospital as the dau is closed now so would have to call ds. Otherwise I would wait til tomorrow and make a doctors appointment then!

Hi! There is no harm in calling the midwife for any concerns you have. Sounds like it might be pelvic girdle pain maybe? I'm 34 wks and have probably had it since about your stage. Mine manifests as sharp pain in the front (over the pubic bone) and can also be achey round the front and back. Also have 'delightful' inner thigh cramp/spasms when I walk sometimes...

Sounds like SPD/PGP...

Hi, I'm a registered osteopath and I treat many pregnant mum's with sharp pelvic girdle pain. You are just entering your 3rd and final postural change in your pregnancy and you pelvic joints (usually the back and front joints are involved) are also changing, ultimately to prepare for delivery. I strongly suggest going for an Osteopathy treatment. Most of my pregnant patients are very surprised at the relief after just a few sessions. Good Luck. Let me know if you would like more info.
