So I've had strong period pain type cramps for the past hour. Baby is wriggling quite a bit as usual for this time of night. I'm not sure if the cramps are anything to do with my evening meal I had at about two and a half hours ago or if anything more. I feel quite sick and have lower back ache.
This is my third baby but I'm not due for another 8 weeks and my first 2 were both 2 weeks late. Not sure if these are strong braxton hicks or just being uncomfortable at this stage of pregnancy.

I'm 32+5 and (sorry if tmi) I get period like cramps when I'm constipated. I've noticed lately when I need to go to the bathroom to empty my bowels I get so crampy a couple of hours before I even realise my bowels are full!
Sorry if this is tmi, but just wondering if it's something you could relate to as I get the backache/feeling sick as well as the cramps.

Whenever I've had anytning like this I've always been told to take paracetamol and if it doesn't settle/gets worse then to call up the hospital and possibly be checked over.

Hope all goes well Flowers

I'm 35 weeks and have been having lower back ache accompanied by period cramps that defend through my tummy and down legs since 30/31 weeks. They are quite painful at times and I also sometimes have diarrhoea a few hours before. I actually went to my MAU one time as it was so bad.

I think it can be normal for some pain when I said to my consultant last week she said its musculo-skeletal pain and also said that as baby gets bigger and things stretch more cramps do become common. She said some woman find they have cramps others get burning stretching pain.

I would advise though that if you are worried or concerned or find the pain unbearable to call ur assessment unit and get checked over for reassurance xx

I've just taken some paracetamol so hopefully they'll help. I've been to the bathroom a couple of times today so don't think it's constipation. Hopefully it'll wear off soon so I can get some sleep. Thanks ladies x
