I'm 16 weeks + 5 days, and I swear I just felt a 'flutter', I said to my mother in law and she told me I'm being 'utterly stupid' is it possible for me to feel at this stage???HmmConfused

It's definitely possible! First flutters are typically felt between 16 and 20 weeks, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. What a stupid thing for her to say anyway. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I am 17 wks tomorrow and just starting to feel flutters, Def not too early :)

16 weeks-feeling flutters too. Ignore the silly woman.

14 weeks for me. It was like a cross between a pop and a flick!

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 26/10/2015 23:14

I'd flutter her shin with my foot if I were you. Then tell her she's utterly stupid when she complains.

I don't advocate violence really but a withering stare and a polite enquiry as to exactly how she's seeing into your uterus should suffice.

Wow, she's rude as fuck! Does she hate you or is she just rude and nasty to everyone? It's not too early at all. I felt flutters at just under 12 weeks, the first time I was pregnant. I was tiny (24 inch waist) and very sensitive though - there was no room for movement in there, haha! You know what you felt.

pootypootwell · 26/10/2015 23:34

Not at all, I definitely felt flutters from around 16 weeks! I've heard it has to do with your build and things, and when I mentioned it to my MW she seemed to think it perfectly plausible! It's so exciting feeling those first little movements isn't it Smile

At my 12 week scan the sonographer asked if I had felt anything yet as the baby was so active. When I said no, she said irt wouldn't be long until I did. First flutters at 16 weeks, it was like being gently tickled from inside :) Ignore.your MIL.

MadGhostlyGnome · 27/10/2015 01:38

Enjoy, it's such a lovely feeling isn't it? Grin

I had my first flutters with DD1 around 18 weeks and a little earlier with DD2. Your MIL is not being overly kind to you is she?!?!!!
