Are gro bags suitable for a newborn baby?

Just that really. Really like the idea of grobags as am a massive worry wart but most people don't seem to use them from newborn even though all the literature says that you can - is there a reason for this? has anyone had good/bad experiences with them? Don't want to waste my money :)

I bought a grosnug for my dd but wasn't too keen on the fabric - quite stiff and not soft. She far preferred to sleep in the newborn sleep bags with sleeves from jojo maman Bebe
