Can I still go swimming or are my waters likely to break? Bit nervous about it...

I hope so, as I plan too!

I'm assuming it's not a vigorous swim? So hopefully unlikely to result in your waters breaking at that moment.

A couple of my friends have had they're waters go when painting, seems that's the way to do it!

I'm sure you'll be fine, waters don't always go immediately. You could find yourself having contractions long before, and possibly having your waters broken for you by a midwife.

I'm 39+5 and just home from a lovely swim :) Swam last time right up til 40+1 and then stopped bc I had a sweep and had a rather plentiful show soon afterwards so seemed a good time to stop :)

And it's blissful for your back. Just lovely.

Yes! I swam until my due date last time and plan to this time too - heaven!

Sleepybunny · 22/10/2015 17:31

a nice deep, warm bath can help the backache too.

My last labour started with backache FYI Wink

I was swimming right up until the day before labour with DS. I would warn you, though that when you are swimming it feels like heaven to be weightless and feel free.......then you have to pull yourself out of the water and I felt as if I was pulling an elephant out with me!!

Lunastarfish · 22/10/2015 17:40

I swam until 39 weeks. I decided that was it for me as it had become too tiring but otherwise I would have swum at 40 weeks. My waters had to be artificially ruptured

Buglife · 22/10/2015 17:40

Yeah I went to my Aquayoga class the day before due date. Wild horses couldnt have kept me out the pool, it was the only place I felt comfortable! But agree with PP, getting out is so hard after being weightless, like someone's attached a bag of weights to you!

Ladypug · 22/10/2015 17:53

thanks everyone, looking forward to a swim :-)
